PP2 or RE050A or CSC3

Time to change tyres. Have not been following the latest and could not find latest thread on this topic in C-class category. So here goes.

Am currently on PS2, but only by virtue of doing a trade-in and swap of the stock tyres after taking the car 1+ year ago. Not prepared to pay for PS2 pricing. This probably means PS3 will be out.

So considering either Michelin Pilot Preceda or the Bridgestone RE050A or CSC3. Is this a correct comparison? Are they all in the same price range?

Am looking for your feedback if you are using either of these tyres on C.

THANKS in advance.

Michelin's competing tyre in the group is not PP2, but PS3.

Anyway, my C is wearing RE050, and i dont like it... yes it grips well in wet, but it gets noisy after 10,000km.

I'll try CSC3 or CSC5 next when its time to change tyres.

Currently family own 2 cars and both are stock W204 of same year. One car is on RE050A (not Re050) and one is on CSC3.

My assesment.

Both are very good grip in all category but CSC3 (now 40K) a touch more noisy than RE050A (now 20K)

Perhaps CSC 3 a touch more noisy due to higher mileage?

Notice RE050A originally comes with thicker thread than CSC3, hence going to change CSC3 soon as left with 4 mm thread but RE050A as good as new despite 20K.

Damage 2 tires on CSC3 during parking as hit parking curb, a chip of the rubber came off when hit the parking concerete. While RE050A solid though hit curb too.

My conclusion: Wont change to CSC3 again due to high price and thin thread though its a good tire

The new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is available now, better dry and wet grip, low noise, more comfort, lower rolling resistance, thread wear is now 300 instead of 240.

The best part is, made in germany and same price with old f1 asy and cheaper than PS3.

So far heard nothing yet, I have goggle this tyres for the last few weeks and only get positive reviews from many forums. This new F1 Aym 2 is supposed to compare with PSS, CSC 5P but priced so much lower.

Hmmm...ok that's one to consider then. Always been between Bridgestone or Michelin. Never tried Goodyear, although have heard of the old F1 being pretty legendary in the wet.

Any thoughts on the low noise after certain distance? Like I am seeing the comments on the RE050A, low noise below 10k, then after that not so good.
