I see, if for the look then the 17" will be good. I m sure U hv no plan for lower spring. Actually upgrade the rim size is not for the look. Is increase the tyre profile on road handling, safety etc

This 17" looks good, can consider. Hope this bru let go to you at good deal, happy seller happy buyer!!

White bulb 6000k and above get those better quality else we might hv another case of yellowish headlight cover :).

thanks for advice bro. Mod is hard for me cos my wife uses the car more than me hahaha...i used to do mod back in oz, mods like lower car, exhaust, filter etc....back here the most only change rim. Fl c class does not come with xenon hence need to mod but dun want to touch the car as afraid might void warranty. Can check if 2.9k for replica amg 18 inch rim with goodyear tire reasonable? Should the tire size be 225/40? For changing to white bulb not sure if its bright enough with osram wiper white and if its error free. Any advice on these please?

Yap age is catching too so tone down on mods :). 18" Replica per rim is about $200~250 &

per tyres $300~400. Therefore rims + tyres taking on the high side $ est $2600!! Less trade in about $1500 or less for 17" original.

Osram?? CMI don't bother. Go & visit Sonic our site sponsor u will be poison :). Brightness usually we go for 6000k or above if LTA is yr concern then leave it stock. Philips is yr best friend for upgrading bulbs but also made in China :)

I got mine change to Diamond 5k. Looks so much better than yellow lights. Cost abt 90 w installation and another 15 for the position lights.

Hi Martin, does changing to Diamond 5k bulbs makes your headlight reflector turn blue when it is off?

Thanks

5k not that white, get 6k at least. DIY is a breeze or you ask the shop to replace for you usually is FOC. Philips damage shld be around $90 to $100?? Call sonic for advise.

Guys, 6k is too white & dangerous if you travel in foggy areas at night eg Genting Highlands. The light will not be able to penetrate the fog, your vision is reduced to only 2-3 feet. The OEM yellow is the best in this situation. If you travel up north, change them back to OEM bulbs.

Yes...Doc is 100% correct  ... if you don't drive up North...just in SG then looks garang...

Depends, if you are frequent travelling to NS then keep it to stock. Else mod it, there is this thing called foglight. If yr ride not comes with it then high beam is the solution if not avoid driving in at nite.

IMHO

Philips Diamond Vision and prices in Singapore ranging from $50+ to $80+ for a set depending on shops and locations.

The bulb is claimed to have 5K colors and the bulb glass are colored blue making your headlight reflector look blue when turn off. It's a big turn off for me!

With the blue tint(making the light a bit whiter) - the actual brightness or Lumens is less bright than compare to a similar Philips Crystal Vision 4.3K color.

IIRC Philips 4.3K or 5K are LTA friendly even if they are tinted blue cos they are 55W unlike some "Jepunese" bulb of 100W.

100W draws very high current and the bulb gets very hot.

Incidence of such high wattage bulb exploding inside your headlamp are not isolated.

Once it explodes in your headlamp - new ones are'nt that cheep!!!

AFAIK Philips do not produce any Xenon/H.I.D bulbs >6000K color.

Anyone claiming Philips Original Xenon/HID above 6000K --- ahem!!!!

Go & check out world wide Philips Automotive bulb sites - find one that show

Philips has >6000K color I would be very interested!

6000K is as near as day time sun light!

Xenon/H.I.D bulbs at 6000K is about 2500 lumens in brightness as compare to a 4300K Halogen bulb having only around 1500 Lumens or less.

That's why Xenon is a higher option than the standard cos Xenon as long as not goin over the 6000K threshold is much brighter than your normal Halogen bulb.

Xenon/H.I.D bulbs are not borne all equal.

A pair of Philips D1S bulb only for MB Xenon Headlamp at benzline cost U $500+ GST

A pair of no name or "claimed" using Philips burner can be as low as $180 a pair for bulbs.

Likewise a set of after mkt original Philips H7, H11, easily cost U >$300 with proper serial numbers and certificate.

As U go up above 6000K colors the 2500 lumens start to drop to as low or even lower than a Halogen bulb in terms of brightness.

AFAIK! Non!

IMHO H.I.D @ 6000k color is the way to go! Nearly twice in brightness lumens as compare to halogen bulbs & the whiteness is very close to sun light!

If keeping your car for >3 years invest in a set of Original genuine Philips aft mkt H.I.D set!

Why! This old record gets tired of playing the same song again about out-gassing from cheep aft mkt H.I.D. Go Google it!

If U want to cut thru fog - change your fog lamps to H.I.D at 3500k color.

The light will be yellowish & cut thru fogs very well.

Go to Sonic Racing...Steve has the right LED pilot lights for W204, definitely no error. Best of all, he'll fix it up for you, why dirty your hands?
