CLK W209 - replace with AMG steering wheel

Can a AMG steering wheel, part no: A1714607003 be retrofit to fit into CLK W209?

From that part number looks like it's for a W171 SLK!

IMHO Dun think it will fit!

Here's a page on steering for W209 from an eBay seller.

I bought my W212 AMG steering from him.

U might also wanna ask him Qs pertaining to your W209 steering

The major problem will bethe air-bag.

Yes.. thanks to kepitig1sg, found a model with paddle shifter. Procedure to activate the paddles:

a) Change the wheel

Add code 428 in the VeDOK database and

c) SCN Code the car

NO EXTRA WIRES or SWITCHES needed!

No, he told I can re-use my exisiting air-bag. And my current car do not have paddle build in.

IMHO,

CnC will not do SCN Coding for U to change your data card contents.

Dun think anyone in Sg can do that either.

My got my AMG 3 spike flat bottomed steering with paddle shifts wired up by Autosprtize for abt $500.

More than 1/2 day job!

No SCN Coding!

Autospritze talked me into buying the steering.....hehehe!

I got it on line for <$2K including air bag as my std W212 has a different air-bag.(4 spoke steering vs 3 spoke steering)

Matter of fact the airbag is nearly half the total cost of the steering.

Therefore for you to buy the steering without airbag, imho should be around

S$1000 or less unless it has wood on it.

Beside Autospritze - MBM was the 1st workshop that I know of that can wired up AMG steering with paddle shifts (provided nowadays they still want to take on such a job)

I understand that another Bro rssid got his amg steering with paddle shifts for his W204 wired by Autospritze too.

BTW I have traded in my ride to CnC and sold the steering to a nice Bro here.

He got the steering wired up to his W212 by Autospritze this week Tues.

The highest priced amg steering with Alcantara is about US$800 + shipping Eur 65.00 to Singapore. Including 7% gst do not total up to $1700.

Some of the other amg steering with paddle shifts sell for US$500+ to US$600 with different wrapping material.

I bought my amg 3 spoke complete with airbags & shipping for about S$2000.

Oh Yes! I bargained with him Singapore style and took the deal out of eBay so he don't pay eBay charges. Please dun follow me unless U wanna take the risk of no eBay protection if he doesn't ship after payment. :becky:
