SGMERC membership drive

Dear fellow members, any ideas on how to increase our participation and members for sgmerc?

Maybe we can put some interesting ideas here for our "dragon head" and moderators to consider. Please contribute

1) Put a sgmerc website card on all mercs you see parked for a period and evaluate the response in new members joining?

2) Charity drive?

3) invite car magazine to do a writeup for the club ?

4) Encourage members to do FR on all new/used stuffs installed. Once the content is strong, naturally will attract users trying to find out more. We were in Hotstuff mag in 2008.

Btw, there are many official Mercedes-Benz Clubs supported by Daimler in many countries but none in Singapore. So I doubt CnC will ever get involve in SGMERC. We tried in our earlier days in 2007, to get CnC to support us in our activities. This explains why we had our first batch of T-shirts from CnC and events invites. This idea is certainly worth exploring again.

May need to set up a proper committee within sgmerc (voluntary basis)

Chairman (sit on the chair and do nothing one) - who?

Vice Chairman - when chairman notsitting on chair, this person get to sit - who?

Treasurer - Finance secretary - this one got chance to head the IMF in the future.- who?

Head Publicity and marketing - who? (to promote sgmerc to others, fund raising)

Head community development and membership - who? (to promote brotherhood within sgmerc)

Head , chairman office - this one do nothing but clean the chairs for the chairman

Head, Ladies affair - this one takes care and organise activities for our ladies members

Various Heads will have members to support their programs .

Woah!! Hold yr horses!! Is getting too hot here. Back to create awareness is better & simpler .

If See&See will be involved!! Hate to say this, PI members got to go!! Then we will have about 50% members gone .

I m confident we will have alot of new members joining us. After the revamp of the new C class model which comes with better power & features.

Most importantly is the forumers here. You guys have participate in the thread forum with great contribution & information. Apart from this, got to thanks to those regular Lai kopi kakis, the forum has truly come alives with their regular outing etc.

my 2 cents worth for creating awareness is to print those pocket calender cards (2012) and placed it on every mercedes in sg, JB & Batam whenever we see one that without our decal.

The calender card MUST have vital information on mods, repair, lobang etc. Then newbies will be excited & curious. Once awareness is there, they will log in here & read up & eventually join us!!

Hmmm. Hotstuff mag main target audience r young n like to " their ride, mainly Japs n Korean cars. A bit not gum with the 3star badge. Then again it's a good marketing campaign for branding awareness.

Perhaps we cN get into mags with closer target audience group?

how about having one of the merc PI at turf city to sponsor/ host a small corner as sgmerc's club house/ huay kwan for members to come together anytime and la kopi. once sgmerc has a permanent place then members will be able to drop by whenever they are free without having to make prior arrangement. i am sure the PI will benefits from this thru more exposure and sales from members going the PI way. you rub my back i rub your back.

hopefully this will help raise sgmerc's profile and attracts more people to come and la kopi with bros.

We used to have a proper team of exco but........left some of us now.

Existing Exco - Kelvin , Leon , Randy, Yap , Jason. And we also have Unker, Blackmerc as moderator to help us in the forum. Do come out with some suggestion and we also understand that some forumer like Desmond and 6008 are very active in arranging events and drive, maybe we can have a la kopi session and discuss on.

Just to add.....

Do you know how much is the rental at Turf city , each unit with 8-10 car park lots cost >$8K. Who will bear all this cost ?

And also setting up a 'Huay kwan' need to apply license from polis.

to create more awareness, arranging more drive to malaysia would be a good get together and explosure to the public.

looking into a 2d1n(sat morning-sunday nite) to KL/Genting , anyone want to arrange this ?

This explains why my C180 is actually a C350. I have a stack of this decal in my boot. Can look for (I think) the only W203 in the meet up for decals. It's going for $5 a piece. You need to feed the horse.

I noticed that the BMW gathering is also held every last sunday in Kallang. Do u guys do this together?
