Milleage for E250

I get about 8.4km per litre for my E250. Anyone gets better milleage than me? The SE says my foot is very heavy but seriously I haven't even start stepping as this is a new car, still have yet to get really used to it yet. My SE mention usually it is 1:10km/1lkm. Abit far fetch to me as I really haven't step on it yet. I'm using 95 shell. My car has nothing inside yet too as I'm too freaking busy to even think about what I wanted to put in the car. Not even a baby car seat.

Hi bro . Mine E250 is drinking tiger's urine 98 . As per my est , mine hit only 8.2km per litre . Thirsty right ?

after the first service, usually mileage gets better... or worst case 2nd service...

also, a gadget like broquet also helps... besides your car can run on 91 octane, so dont put the expenisve stuff in the tank

8km to 10km is the usual norm!

Somehow I find that on Shell 98, I get better FC than the Shell 95.

I was initially on 95 for many mths but the last few tankful has been on Shell 98.

I usually gets around 8km to 9km on Shell 95 and the last tankful was 10km/ltr. on Shell 98.

On Shell 98 I usually gets around 9km/ltr.

Normal weekly routes, time of day and style of driving.

My previous FL W211 has better FC but dun gave the extra 20hp on the E250

Have to compare your ride's 'S' mode with the rest...since no diff for you to drive in both 'C' or 'S', must as while go on 'S' all the way...:bounce:

Reading this thread and somehow it arouses my curiousity. Am drinving a W204 BE C180 CGI and my regular attainment has been 10-11.5km per litre. Gave up trying to mimmick bro Chiaster's record.

A W212 E250 CGI is also a BE 1.8L engine. So why is the FC around 8-10km per llitre? Because of its heavier weight?

Discussion and enlighten me pls!

Oh so this is normal. Hahaha, My SE told me should hit 10 to 11km. The previous round i hit 8.3 only so I thought I calculate wrongly. As long as this is normal, I'm perfectly fine. That means if I drive like how I used to drive, I will achieve about 7.5km per litre.

So that means using 95 is good enough ? Got some worries abt power issue , that's why never try . Maybe should just try once and see how . Btw , who is using 95 and who is using 98 ???

u can get 10-11.5km/l? that's good liao. i'm onli averaging 8.5km/l but 90% city driving n 50% full load.

as for the W212, i tink 8.5km/l is not unreasonable due to heavier body n having the same 1.8L work a little harder compared to one that's fitted to a W204.

btw, tink most jap 2.0 or 2.4L cars oso ave 8-9km/l onli.

i switch between caltex techron silver 95 and platinum 98 occasionally. confirm plat 98 smoother n engine seems more willing.

1. The C180 CGI is 115kg lighter than the E250 CGI

2. The E250 CGI has a bigger engine than the C180 BE C180 CGI, though the same as the C200 CGI which engine is also lower tuned to 184 hp similar to the E200 CGI.

3. The E250 CGI despite a heavier body has to provide more power, torque, speed & acceleration.

Here are some of the specs of the 2 rides.

C180 BE CGI

Engine Capacity: 1597cc

Power Output: 156hp

Torque: 230 Nm

Acceleration 0-100km/hr: 9.9s

Weight: 1.5 Tonne

Power to Weight Ratio 1tonne:104hp

E250 CGI

Engine Capacity: 1796cc

Power Output: 204hp

Torque: 310 Nm

Acceleration 0-100km/hr: 7.8s

Weight: 1.615 Tonne

Power to Weight Ratio 1tonne:126hp

Bro, tink u meant the C180 BE Kompressor is 1.6L. The C180 CGI BE is 1.8L.

The C180 BE 1.8L is the same 1796cc M271 engine as the E200/E250/C200/C250 BE but is tuned to a low 156hp with the same 1.5 tonne lighter body than the E200/E250.

So comparing C250/E250 where the engine output tuned to a high 204 hp which is 50hp or >30% extra output of the C180 1.8L.

The C180 1.8L do not has to "work so hard" therefore should have better FC than the E250/E200/C200/C250

C180 CGI at 1400KG vs E250CGI cabriolet at 1700KG!

Thus my C180 is 10KM per litre.

My e250 cab is 8KM per litre.

Take off C180 CGI is faster!

e250 CGI take off is cooler only ... fainted.
