Thank you Camber53 for the info . Btw do ya know how to set the air con to permanent in car air circulation only ? Cos mine always auto take in outside air which odour from those air will flow in after a few mins . My dealer told me that those Germans worry that we might get gas poisioing if we use permanent in car air circulation . That's why they set it at this mode .

It's a safety feature! Imagine if you fall asleep in the car with your engine running and aircon on, you might die from gas poisoning! Rest assured that the Germans at Mercedes-Benz think of everything when they put a car together! :)

Hmm..falling asleep in the car?? Hopefully not while driving. Fair enough to think of such far fetch scenario on the Germans. But the Japanese are certainly better. In my Lexus, the air circulation has an auto feature on top of the off/on selection. If it detects smog from other vehicles, it will shut automatically & reopen after a couple mins. Wonder why the Germans do not think of this???

Not too far fetched! And of course, not falling asleep while driving! Anyway, there's cases whereby people leave their dogs/cats/children/elderly in the car for prolonged periods with the aircon running. These people come back to their cars to find the occupants passed out! The Japs and Germans are great innovators!

Mine and one of my bro's air con can in car air circulate for only abt 5 to 10 mins . Another bro of mine can do that for half an hr or slightly more . Read abt a way to change the setting in the manual . Tried but din work .

W212 only 10 min. W204 about 30min. Seriously, what are the Germans thinking?? People in W212 are at higher risk?

W212 is the new E250 rite ? 3 cars all same . But one got different setting . Puzzled ?? That setting is suitable in Europe . Probably their air quality is better . As for asian country ..... imagine you were stucked at the causeway , how many times you will need to press that button ? Fr Toa Payoh to Jurong I pressed at least 5 times .
