My Malacca trip

Drove my ride to Malacca to eat & shop. Really enjoy myself & to my surprise there are many shopping centers, nice food, dessert etc. Ample parking lots too, probably is a weekdays. The usual makan is chicken rice ball & yummy nonya chendol.

Before head back to sg, went to Mobile station to top up my petrol but was told to pay for the highest grade T97 something like that. Reason is that by law foreigner cannot enjoy discount. I joking told the guy that I m Malaysian driving sg car, so can top up lower grade? He gives the blank expression . Anyway, top up the highest grade for like half a tank & pay only RM $70!! Thanks Msia!!

So head back to sg, is really a pain driving out from Malacca to NS highway. Took me half an hour to reach the toll gate bcos of the traffic light!! Once hit the NS, I gunned all the way!! Saw a group of cars blocking the right lane, took the left lane speed up & manage to over take them. So proud of myself, guess what?? there is one patrol car in that group.

Next thing u know, kena book by this patrol car. So I get of my car & ask him why he stop me. His reply, "u hitting more than 150 km, what do u think?? If below 140km I can give u chance. He continues to suan me, "WAH yr car very fast hor & overtaking very good too"!

I just smile back & explaining him that I speed up to overtake not speeding, he didn't buy my story obviously!!. So I ask him how to SETTLE IT?? He starts to talk loudly & aggressively wanted to book me & then out of sudden starts to speaks softly. So I know is a sign, I ask him AGAIN how to SETTLE IT?? Then he gives me a warning & inform me where is the next camera setup down the road & I thank him with a tip, of course!!

End of my boring story!!

Wah Bro, you really went... I'm glad you had a good time there! Yes, Malacca very different from 10 yrs ago, now plenty of shopping and new food joints. If staying over nite, Holiday Inn by the prier is a good hotel, good,new,cheap and clean. Yes, yes, can't leave Malacca without eating the Chicken Rice Balls and the Chendol...:eyebrows:

Speed pass the MahTah huh? Glad you escape with the 'tip', do take note about tipping, 'cos the local authority is stepping up anti-corruption, heard from locals that some got into trouble for 'tipping'...:nono:

Orh thanks for the tip on the hotel. No plans to stay overnite though, usually plan for a day trip only. Cant sleep well in the nite though

Believe or not, being cheonging NS for so many donkey years, this is the first time stop by traffic MahTah. Hmm must go temple to pray this weekend. Lesson learn here, dont overtake anyhow

Hmmm frankly i dont really know the address, as i log it in my Garmin during my last trip with my buddies many moon ago. After that everytime when i visit malacca i will depend on the Garmin to lead me there. After lunch will drive up and hit the shopping center and then head back home. So usually visit Malacca trip only within a day and during weekdays not weekend as parking is an issue.

So if you guys interested, do show of hand and not NATO!!!! The purpose of this trip is to de-carbonise and test the power of yr ride (not drive like a madman), enjoy the nice scenery. As for the Malacca itinerary :-

8.30 am departure from sg, reach Malacca around 11 am.

Lunch there till 12.30 pm, shopping till 4pm.

Depart from Malacca 4.30 pm

Reach sg around 6 to 6.30pm.

was in melaka for one whole week man! for cny.

eh not bad eh, u know how to settle with the cops. if u can talk malay lagi better! my last trip speeding damage was $50 ringgit!

sometimes! u insist on a fine if e cop damn lazy only want to makan money one. perhaps he will just let you off. but ok not bad! smiling also good tactic!

but ok la cops in msia are generally ok one. haha. i kena like 10 times liao. coz m sporean but have relatives in melaka. prolly travelled more then 200 times to and fro liao!

i guess just have to watch out in the future~!

Ok will more careful the next time

Also, didn't know that touch & go hv expiry date for one year. My 2 old cards shld hv abt balance of RM100++ cant be used now. So end up brought a new card. Total amt to & fro Malacca abt RM100 or less for the toll fees. U can purchase the card at the first toll on yr left.

I was driving all the way 210kmh, and top speed hit 230kmh when road empty.

Then stop at ayeh keroh bridge rest stop for a short shower. If not I can think hit less than 5 hours hehe
