Newbie saying a big hi to everyone.

Collected my ride a week ago and loving every minute of it.

However, can some gurus advise on the following:

1) While reversing, engine noise tends to be louder if you take slightly longer to park. Is it normal?

2) Ride was manufactured in 2010 so should I go for an oil change after 1000km (running in)?

Tks in advance.

A warm :welcome: Bro E-CAB & hope U enjoy your stay with us!

Hope U can join us in our mthly GTG which is held on the last Sun of each mth at Kallang Stadium Car Park F from 4.30 pm onwards.

Lookout for e-cabrio kakies - Bro Blackmercs & Bro DesmondToo

1) I am driving the E250CGI sedan - Didn't hear any louder noise by the engine in reverse!

2) The recommended 1st servicing is 15K km - but I did mine at 6K+ km in 6 mths with Mobil I. I intend to do that every 6 months though I avg. only about slightly more than 1K km/mth.

IMHO, though the recommended service interval is 15k km, with our hot climate, I "phychologically" feel better to do it every 6 mths.

I got my car in May 2010 and year of mfg 2010 and not year of made 2010 (IIRC starts from 3rd qtr 2009)

I have also a Toyota Prado 3.0 Turbo Diesel in Batam Island and I've regularly serviced and changed the engine oil - Mobil 1 every 6 mths.

Despite the very poor skills of mechanics there, the car has been serving me very well for more than 6 years without a single problem from the engine.

I guess if it makes U feel better to change the oil @ 1K km, pls do so. :becky:

Welcome e cab!! Yrs from C&C or PI? Is it AMG sport package too?

1) The duration is it like more than one minute? Nope I don't hv this issue.

2) if PI I m sure is requirement for u to send for servicing at 1000km, if C&C is 15000km. Stick to the requirement in case u wanna claim for warranty.

Agrees with Bro blackmercs on point (2).

As for loud engine noise, neither do I experience it during reversing...please come to the next GTG(Feb), and we can look look see see together.

Sure! Want to check out your rides too. Notice noise comes in when I make a full turn on the steering while reversing. Will monitor again. By the way, where do you service your PI ride? Care to share? By pm if not convenient to reveal. TIA

From PI and Amg sports package. The noise may be due to a full turn on the steering. Noise has been significantly reduced these few days. Will go for an oil change at 1k km and maybe an assessment. :becky:

Can I ask you some questions?

Read about the sports mode on your agent ride. Where is it located and how do you activate it?

Lastly, is it possible to use the paddle shifts even at 'D'?

TIA

Blackmercs's ride is from AD, his Sport Mode is on the console, somewhere below the 'ON' dial. But he's is different, 'cos it also turns on the Dynamic Handing Mode that PI's ride(from UK) don't have, unless your ride has that option. Else the toggling between S, E and M modes is a square button next to the gear shift.

Yes, you can paddle shifts on 'D'...:becky:

Ok, see you on the next GTG...:car::car::car:

Bro, try to avoid holding at full turn for too long. The noise that you hear is the steering hydraulic pump working at max & will likely deteriorate your steering hoses prematurely, leading to steering oil leak. One point to note, avoid leaving your wheels turned when parked as starting up the car will cause a sudden surge in steering pressure by the pump.
