Hi there, discovered that the W212 has no '0' position to shut off headlights. Can only leave it on 'A'.

Quite irritating le the headlights come on whenever there's a little darkness.

Can W212 gurus pls advise how to totally shut off the headlights?

Thank u...

like that you call irritating...is a safety feature to avoid accident. wait till you get some jerks driving & speeding around in the dark MSCP w/o switching on their headlights...personally encountered few near missed accidents.

during reversing if paiseh...you can turn to parking lights, just one click to the left and your headlights & DRL will be off

My E211 has a dial to adjust the beam height, I usually set it to lowest position, not sure about W212, maybe you can check to see whether is your beam set to highest position?

Nothing wrong with normal driving low beam lights on when driving around MSCP and parking. They are not high beam and will not irritate anyone unless you're reversing into an angled parking lot.

I always have my W211 lights on auto.

Now that u mention, ya the recirculation keeps going off. Even more frequently than my W203.

I do agree that the W212 is a fantastic car. Absolutely brilliant. Low fuel consumption and low road tax some more. Shiok!

Unlike Japanese cars, Mercedes is designed with re-cirulation off. It brings in a controlled amount of outside air, and with its filter, I can hardly smell anything. Unlike Japanese cars that opens wide with air re-circulation off, coupled with poor air filter, that would bring all sorts of external pollutants and smell in.

It is a safety and health feature of Mercedes.
