Tuning up an E200 to E250 specs, possible?

Was drooling over the E250 CGI Cab. Test drove it and couldn't get it out of my mind.

It is, however, a cool 20K more expensive than the E200 CGI Cab with only slight differences in equipment. Since they have the same engine, it does appear that that you are literally paying 20K just for the different tune.

I'm a noob to MB cars so noob question: are there similar ECU remap programs like MTM for VAG cars to bring the power of an E200 to an E250? And if so, is it detectable i.e. C&C will void the warranty?

TIA!

Do u really needs the extra horses?? Hv u test drive both model? For me I didn't go for E250 mainly Cabro is a life stlye car, secondly I don't hv the dough & in terms of features & function there are not much diffs. So is not difficult decision for me to make :). I m comparing the two models & not C&C vs PI.

Hi Bro Leftfield,

The honorable Leftfield from VAGSG :hand:-

A warm :welcome: to U!

IMHO

IIRC there are some piggy backs from Tuner Brabus & MKB which probably give a slight increase of <10 whp.....and maybe some loss of low end torque too....hahaha!...very disappointing sia!

I am not sure whether Dennis at AutoSpritze can do anything but I doubt he has any at this moment.

Maybe we should create a market for him!

Robert has no mTm solution for Merc lah!

The E200 or E250 cabrio known as A207 is more a boulevard cruiser than a hot cabrio unless U go for the bigger E350 cabrio or the SL Cabrios.

It's unfortunate that MB unlike VAG or Bimmer are difficult to mod with their locked ecu.

I guess if U want a fast cabrio probably the A5 or S5 would be a better choice.

If U are used to the 6 or 7 spd DSG on VAG rides, U will be quite let down by the E200/E250 "ancient" 5 spd tranny.

Other than that, the built quality & ride quality is excellent!

I have my follies with a mTmed Q5 and A4 2.0 TQ for a short while.

They were great rides but I have to admit I m old and those cars were not suitable for me and I came back to a MB.

We have some bros driving the E200 while some chose the E250 cabrio or sedan. I guess it depends what rock their boat.

If U have the time do join us at our mth end GTG which is held on the last Sun of each mth.

This coming Sun, we are having our GTG at our usual place at Kallang Park Stadium F from 4.30 pm onwards.

We will have at least one E200 cabrio & a E250 cabrio around.

They are friendly bros to share information about their rides.

U too have my permission to rape or molest their rides!

Hope to cya!

Last but not least!

If U want the E cabrio and the power then it's obvious that U go for the E250.

It's never the same by saving the 20 grand and hope to get the same power of the E250.

I had the same thoughts when I had a C180 instead of the C200.

The extra 15 grands at that time can do quite a few things.

I put on the Kleemann K-Box, Pulley Kit, Bigger fuel pump & C230 SC.

I don't think I was near to the C200.

Wish things would be that simple!

Haha, hardly see you at the other forum now, so u are spending your time here! :bounce:

Looks like tuning up is not as easy as it seems. Hmmmm....alternatively i can also save the 20 grand by going via the PI route for an E250

The meetup sounds interesting indeed, I'll swing by if possible! Thansk for the invite!

Haha, good question but who doesn't want MORE power? C&C only have the E250 Cabrio for test drive so I have no idea how the E200 cabrio would fare.

I've been monitoring the used car market as well and it seems that the E250cabrios tend to be snapped up quite fast!

If you do not mind, could u share with me via PM the price u got for your cabrio? The e250 is listed at 267,888 with only 6k discount.

Bro Leftfield,

U go & chat-up with Bro Blackmercs about PI E Cabrios!

He did at least > 6 months "research" on PI cabrios before deciding on the C&C E200 cabrio.

Think he got lots to tell U! :becky:

Bro Desmond will be at the gtg this Sunday with Blackmercs.

Desmond is driving a PI E250 Cabrio.

U will have a chance to molest 2 of these cars at the same time.

I m sure Blackmercs give free taxi rides with his E200 cabrio.

Pm me yr nos if u want to get E200 Cabro. Yes, we do needs more power but there is a price to pay :). Forgetting to add, only C&C comes with dynamic handling package aka sport mode, paisei guys keeps on harping on this stoopid features. This function will able to give u a little sprint once the button is activated which gd for launching but no hp gain only FC & a smile when u "tia" another ride at the traffic :).

C&C price E200 Cabrio $267,888, E250 Cabrio $286,888, both less $6k + either B180, C200, E or S class enjoys extra $10k off(Last Thurs 20/01 offer, not sure still available).

PI price E200 Cabrio should range from $222k onwards, E250 Cabrio from $242k onwards, both depends on the options on the ride.

How about the aftermarket tuning boxes eg ventura/tmc? The vagsg forum pple do quite a lot of GBs. This forummer manualisbetter even ordered 1 for his e200cgi AND touran. The promoted power hoke seemed quite substantial!!

Lat week, saw a E250 cabrio AMG (PI ) going for $189 without COE, if you plus the current open cat COE, should be around $250k + (before nego)
