Has anyone here tried to convert the twin oval tailpipes from their E350 to the rectangular ones found on the E500? Any idea on cost and where it can be done?

Hi Carl,

I've gotten this modification done.

You'll have to purchase a diffuser and the rectangular pipes for this modification. It cost approx 900 with workmanship included.

Point to note, its not a take it off , put it on process. Shortening of your tail pipe and welding is required.

I will recommend MAN Exhaust Works. Meticulous and professional.

Hey, it is all thanks to contributions found on this forum that made the mod possible. BIG thank you!

There is no change to the exhaust like you mentioned.

Will love to share some picts, but you'll have to believe me, i don't have a camera at the moment and my phone is ancient(no camera). Surely, i will post some picts when i get to it. Meantime, the one and only pict that i have access to is what Jean from Zaino took for me. Pls see link below for post #582.

Yeah thanks Bombul. I googled and found some additional info here with lots of pics. Think this is a different approach?

Yes carl, from the post, i gathered that it is done with housing on the diffuser for this modification. That was the initial attempt on the E250.

However, it doesnt fit nicely and even if i insisted on this method, the round tail pipes can be seen from the rectangular exhaust tips at the rear. The exhaust tips on the other hand, will be largely extended from the diffuser.

That is my experience with the E250. E350 may be different.

Wow very nicely done indeed. Can I just confirm that $900 includes the diffuser? If so, that's pretty reasonable :becky:

Thanks!

Exhaust tips, diffuser and labour comes up to mid $900.
