Selling the above...

1. Headers and high flow cat - 1.5k

2. Pulley/air filter/k-box - 2k.

Used on clk200 M271 engine. If take total whole set (item 1 n 2 - price is 3.2k). I believe the above are priced quite cheaply already haha. Let me know as will be trading in car soon.

Contact me at 82824505 if keen.

A question for the experts:

Do the headers/cat cause an increase in the exhaust loudness over the stock system?

shawnyswsg:

Does your K Box package include the fuel regulator and belt, which should be part of the set?

Hi Adam,

i've used the headers before but not much different in sound but cat ( maybe will have )

* fuel regulator ( different variant might have different FR ) like CLK to SLK is different

cheers

Thanks bro for your reply.

So in other words, since shawn's application is for the CLK M271 engine, I would have to buy extra parts to fit the kit into a W211 M271?

As far as I can gather, I would need a fuel regulator and a belt? Would these be available separately locally?

Hi Adam,

basically the K-Box boost-kit and headers fits all M271 engine except the fuel regulator portion as some variant might be different ( can purchase from MBM, look for Patrick 6451 5333 )

*alternatively you can just upgrade to a bigger pulley then do an ECU tune ( call Dennis 9475 4255 of Autospritz )

cheers

Thanks again for the reply bro.

Sorry, but I'm a total ignorant fool when it comes to Merc stuff.

Are these headers/cats a direct bolt on bolt off install? Or will welding and cutting be involved? I guess my question is how easy would it be to revert back to stock?

Would not touching the exhaust be a real waste in the grand scheme of things? My priorities are maintaining the quietness of the car. If the headers + cats increase the noise level noticeably within the cabin, it would be a no go for me.

But if they are just louder by a tad, I guess I can live with it.

Thanks for your time bro!

Would anyone know the approximate cost of installing just the boost kit without the exhaust part?

Should be a pretty simple bolt on affair right?

Hi Adam,

i think $3k.............or more............

cheers

So I guess your earlier estimate of $3k or more refers to the installation of the full kit (K-Box, pulleys, fuel regulator, belt and air filter + headers and cats)?

Hi Adam,

i think 3k is just for the Boost-kit ( K-Box, brand new )

cheers

I see now. Thanks for clearing the confusion.

I thought you were referring to installation charges.

Hi Adam,

Happy modding. Whether it really works or its just butt feel, thats not important. Most important is you are happy at the end of the day. :)
