does anyone find that the c200 head light is perhaps too weak as compare to most most modern cars? And I dun even think it is HID..... or is it just me?

Then go for HID or xenon, stock orange light is not bright. Yr ride is W204?

You can always change the whole lamp assembly and it will look original. I changed my W203 light assembly to xenon and to 6k bulb, and it has passed the LTA inspection for the past few years.

Hmm.. that's interesting.

Seems like the new rules are for cars registered from 1 Jan 2010. And it does not indicate if owners do their own conversion, will the rules apply.

Has anyone here converted / retrofitted to HID and passed inspection?

My previous ride, registered in March 2007 which does not has the levelling function for headlights, passed Vicom test with HID lights fitted on in March 2010. So I guessed there is no issue afterall.

My previous ride, registered in March 2007, with no headlights levelling function for the car, passed its first Vicom with HID lights installed. So I guess it's not an issue.

HID lights will not fail you from Vicom test. There is a clarification from LTA on this matter. Since W204 has the auto levelling function on the head lights, it shouldn't be a problem.

See news release from LTA.....
