Hi all,

I'm from KL and need some info before I make my first Merc purchase,the C280 W204. It's a UK 08 spec car..my concern is it's 7Gtronic gearbox..reliability and any common issues..Hope SgMerc owners Having this gearbox can share their experience on this,mileage done and service interval of the gearbox oil..

Hi Brader ....

Mercedes-Benz ... 722.9 @ 7 speed G-tronic ...

As I know ... the gear system ... so far so good ....

but the repair cost ..... damn Expensive ....

You will never reach to the Final 7th gear Engage .... at the normal driving condition ...

the 6th and 7th gear will engaged .... at speed +/- 140 km/h and above ....

It was a very good and BETTER fuel consumption .....

FYI, the 722.9 gear system for CLS 350 ... * ONLY for CLS ....

you may having a JERK during the gear shift ..... (sofeware problem)

thanks for the info..was told the gearbox costs rm40k??one workshop told me a E280 had some problems and tht was the cost..Btw is 722.9 is it the code for the 7gtronic and is it the same for he W204?

YES ... the repair cost for 722.9 Gear System ... was very costly ...

easily cost you RM 30 K ...

... the B1 , K1 and the K3 system ... are available in whole SET

No Loose Clutch available ....

it was a controlling Item by the MBAG ... every NEW control unit replacement

need for the SCN coding .... (Software Calibration Number) ...

Mercedes-Benz always install a different software into a different Model ...

A Different Engine Capacity .... with .... Different Formula .....

A Different Gear System .... with .... Different Gear Ratio .....

Went to diagnose the car today at AMG(Auto Mobile Garage) section 13 PJ..the guys seem capable and fully equipped..big workshop,think can easily fit 20 cars in one go..you have any info on them Gan?
