Unpleasant Experience & Lesson Learnt

Just to share... was suppossed to install the DRL as been informed early in the morning that the stock is in. Called the boss that I'm coming down (was told to send a SMS before going down for installation) at 3PM. Reach the shop carpark at 3:30PM and received a SMS that think appointment fully booked (but I have reached)??? Tried my luck and spoke to the boss again - " So can I still fix the DRL?" " Yes, we will fix up another car and will do yours"... Asked again " so how long in total it will take?" " 3hrs plus (the other car is easier to fix which will takes an hour plus while mine will require 2hrs or so)"

Was brought to a 3rd party workshop (workshop location is 5min drive from the shop) and happily waited there... After 2hrs of 'Standing' at the workshop, my car was parked at the same spot when arrived at the workshop and nothing was done to my car :( Boss came and asked if I will to go shop around? I took advise and went for dinner... After an hour, I went back to the workshop (by then is 6:30PM (3hrs passed since I reached the shop) and to my surprise, nothing was done to my car and parked at the same spot again !!!

Conclusion: Drive home after wasted good 3hrs without anything done..

Lesson learnt: Whenever it was mentioned that "think appointment is full", Never ever try your luck.

Hi Leed,

From the post, most of us can guess which installer you are referring to.

After reading your posting, I felt that your post is irresponsible and mis-leading.

On the contrary, most of us had good experience with this person. In the first place, did you confirm the time before going down?

When I installed my DRL with this guy, he also said it takes 3 hours to install, I went shopping and came back after 3 hours, I had to wait for another 2 hours, and the next guy also came on time and watied for 2 hours to start installing his car. We all undestand that sometimes they may face difficulty and lenghten the installation time, they don't do it on purpose, on the other hand it is not their interest to lenghten the installation, they could have done it faster and install more cars to earn more money.

If your purpose of posting is to vent your own frustration, it does not benefit the readers and waste our time reading it.

I need to defence this installer because I find him good and trustable.

I hope we will not start a war, you can reply and I will read but I will not continue this thread.

Moderator: Delete my post if you find it not appropriate.

Thanks.

Hi Poh,

I believe all the members here are all beautiful people and there is not intention to start a war here in this topic.... This is a forum for open discussion and sharing of experience. As my subject stated - Unpleasant experience and lesson learnt, I do not have the intention to mention or bad-mouth the shop or boss from the very beginning and purely to share my encounterment and lesson learnt .... You may have different experience or comment (be it positive or negative) to share. Your assumption of the same shop or boss may be correct or wrong but the fact is that appointment has been made prior to that and ended up nothing was done after a long wait where I finally gave up on further waiting as I has an another appointment to rush for, not expecting the waiting time was so much longer than being told.

I do share the same thought as you and if the moderator find my thread is inappropriate or is wasting people time reading, I will respect that this topic to be removed.

Hi there,

I do not know who "Boss" is and I would like to share my experience... no intention to "bad mouth" anyone but I would like to share my experience.

Made an appointment to do a minor mod and I was told that it is going to be a two hours job. Appointment was made in the afternoon and I make up a story to the office to "eat snake". I was expecting to be back in office before the end of the day. I made the decision to wait expecting it to be a 2 hours job.

Guess what, the job was finally completed after 4.5 hours. I rejected the work done the first time as it did not meet my expectation and it was agreed that it was not done properly and I have to wait another hour. There was also some minor damage to the car after the job but I just did not bother to rectify.

My disppointment is that the place that I went to was a "reputable" and I admit that I have some expectations. At the end, it was an unpleasant experience and I am not sure if I will patronise them again.

Cheers
