W204 C200k - Sports Mode and Change of Suspension

Hi Bros,

please enlighten me.

1). Will sports mode adjust firmness of the damping? Is there one in the 1st place on the default stock model? Read in the net about the "dynamic handling package" (sports mode), that it does so. Not sure i/we have this?

2). Would like to lower my ride via coilover/ springs, but not sure if it will affect the "sports mode"?

3). Has any1 lowered and notice anything major difference?

1) u shld do a search here instead as I hv done some on this sports mode thingy. Just to confirm, does yr ride "sport mode" comes with a separate button or this button is near the gearshift which allows u to switch to M & C? If yes, I don't think u hv the Dymanic handling option.

Whether the suspension will lowered after activated? Err no feel at all, at times I feel like being short change.

2) till now u can't replaced with lowered spring as no manufacturer has it, I hope I m wrong bcos I m dying to lower my ride.

3) most of us has lowered ride either using H&R or Eibach pro kit, as for coilover u got to ask ACslk bro he is the coilovers specialist . Whether u like the butt feel or handling is depends on individual driving style. Some like it hard & some soft!! For me, is the looks does matter .

Orh one thing to add, is it going to void yr warranty is a yes due to suspension issue after u mod it!!

The question you have to ask yourself is do you have the dynamic handle package ? If not all the sports mode button gives you is a start in gear 1 as opposed to gear 2 when moving off initially and a slightly quicker throttle response/change in shift timing and nothing to do with suspension.

For lowering springs you have a choice of H&R from benzline cost approx $450+ or Eibach from alfa sportivo approx $360+. Do a search in the forum as this has been discussed with pics and prices and so on.

If you're feeling particularly rich you may choose to go with coilovers from KW which replaces the absorber and spring.

The above is for a car without the dynamic handling package. If you do have the dynamic package i.e bought your car with the amg 950 option from C&C youre pretty much stuck with whateva they give you in terms or ride height and absorber as its hooked up to the electronics of the car as a integrated set.

I did a search in this forum previously, but didn't really understand.

Its all clear now. Mine is without the Advanced Handling. Only the one at the gear, C/ S thingy. Which does not basically affect the suspension as per u mentioned.

Doing some research on the coilover thingy, probably will get H&R.

U guys might already know these forums. They have quite a few poisonous stuff there. Enjoy!
