MB Service 2010

Finally got my ride's software upgrade, made possible by good old fashion insistence and persistence followup. It is after all, touted as one of the freebies that attracted me to sign up. Job took as long as a day but what the heck!

1. ECU

MB object number 0024467340

HW version 00.00 SW version 08.08

Version (internal) M272_KE_VC12_2, ME97

Original control unit software version: 0054487040, 0044476140

New control unit software version: 0094489240, 0064475540

2. Auto tranny

MB object number 0335457332

HW version 09/04 SW version 10/05

Version (internal) VGS2_001, EGS2, VGSNAG2

Original control unit software version: 0014489310

New control unit software version: 0084489010

Collected my ride yesterday evening and drove her out as gently as I could. It wasn't too long before I lose the smile on my face as the downshift (from second to 1st) is shockingly rough. It feels like a double-decker bus trying to buy me a new bumper. Anyone has undergone the same softwares upgrade and can share your experience or provide me an insight of what's happening to my ride?

Cheers, ken100

Hi ken100,

How can I check if the software on my ride needs upgrade? Thanks...

Not sure how to check from the onboard computer, but I do know C&C and MBM have the equipment to check current version. It was at MBM that I came to know about my outdated software and it doesn't come cheap to update either... to the tune of $500/program I was told.

For those looking forward for software update, the gearshift has significantly improved after putting in some mileages. My guess is that the computer is adapting to the new software! Fingers crossed it keeps getting better.

Cheers, ken
