He's not just rich! He's F$#kin rich!.....hahahaha!

IMHO, for MB saloon, 18" is good enough and anything bigger will be too hard for my "kar chng"

I think Bro Blackmercs also upgraded only to 18" nia!....hahahaha!:becky:

Hey fellas, after looking at bro newmerc's wheels yesterday at the meet-up, I couldn't resist and went shopping for a set myself! Was looking for something with twin 5 spokes (do a search for avant garde m328 and you'll see how it looks like). Went around asking for it but to no avail. Some places have got a similar design but the spokes are curved instead of at an angle. This one shop said that the next shipment will probably come in at the end of the year or early next year. I couldn't wait! So anyway, ended up at Ray-S around closing time and friendly Raymond showed me a few options. I went with the original Breyton GTS-AV in silver. 19"x8.5" et45. He offered me Michelin PS2s but warned that they were noisy and doesn't add much to comfort. I know these tyres are great through the corners though but decided to go with a higher profile of 235/35/19 CSC3s instead. Considering that I was already sacrificing a lot of comfort by going with 19"s, I thought I should have more comfortable tyres. So, the new wheels will be up tomorrow and I can't wait to see how the ride looks with it!!!

Ya post pics & does it requires spacer??

From the pictures that Raymond showed me (a few other W204s have done it already), the wheels seems to sit flushed from the fenders. I will not know for sure until I see it on my ride tomorrow. And yes, the pictures will come!!! :) For now, my main concern will be if there will be "rubbing" against the insides of the wheel wells when turning the steering to "full lock" positions. Anyone has any insights / advice? Many thanks! :)

U tell Raymond if rub no deal, after install go one round and test for fender rubbing. If u didn't lowered yr ride no concern at all. If rub is offset issue not rims & tyres.

Yes, I will be checking out the scene there. You guys can take a look at my wheels then! :) By the way, since there are so many of us going down to BRABUS tomorrow, why don't we meet at one place and all head down together at the same time? Shows the unity of our forum! :)

That's my precise intention. If it rubs, then the deal is off! Costs $3xxx so it had better be installed nicely without giving me problems! Anyway, I was deciding if I should lower my ride BEFORE I went for the rims. Told myself that if I went with 18s, I'll put on the H&R springs to drop the height by 30mm. Now, since I've decided on 19s, don't think I would lower the car anymore. The gap between the wheels and the fenders should be smaller on 19s compared to 18s on stock suspension. Front and rear anti-sway bars would be next. Anyone has any recommendations? I will also be changing my lights at Sonic Racing soon. Those will be all that I'll be doing to the car. Hopefully. :)

OK i think many ppl have the wrong concept of the fender gap thingy. No matter what size you change u still get the same circumference, meaning same diameter!!!. If you on 20" or 15" the overall diameter is the same. Inshort, the gap between the wheels and the fenders always remain the same regardless the size of the rims!!!

Why u need the swar bars?? U go deep and hard cornering most of the time??? Lowered yr ride and increase the rims will do, provided you are those super hard core love to drift too :). Do remember that rear wheel drive is super goody on cornering, in my opinion you can skip the swar bars thingy.

Really??? Hmm... I thought that the overall diameter of the wheel and the tyre varies with the specifications one can determine from the height of the tyres' sidewall? Like, for example, there will be a noted difference in the height of a tyre with sidewall 50 as compared to 40. All else being equal. And this will show up in how big/small the fender gap will be. Which also brings me to my next point that if one upgrades/downgrades the rims/tyres, there will be a differential in terms of the reading on the speedometer and the real speed that the car is travelling.

With regards to the anti-sway bars, I knew that I will not be changing to the H&R springs nor will I be going on coilovers. And I do know for a fact that anti-sway bars are a cheaper alternative to reducing the roll when doing quick exits out of corners, doing long bends into / out of expressways. I do not drive this car like a mad man but I do want added dexterity translating from the car if/when there is an occasion that requires it. So, if I were to skip the anti-sway bars, will the H&R springs do the trick? I'm just worried that with the 19s now, lowering the car might do more harm than good? Lao jiaos please advise. :)
