Hi,

Anyone tried connecting the new iPod Shuffle with W212 media interface? I wanted to check if its the same if I connect to the more expensive iPod Nano in terms of functionality you get from the W212 Audio 20.

Thanks!

The new iPod shuffle like the older ones use the 3.5mm cable for charging or connection to the headphone.

With the media interface, U can only use the 3.5mm AUX cable In to connect your iPod Shuffle and not the cable for iPod/iPhone.

This means U cannot control the songs on your Shuffle from your Audio 20, Steering Controls & song display on the DIS.

I've connected my 3G iPod Nano & iPhone 3GS using the iPod/iPhone cable provided for the Media Interface without problem.

There's also charging and full controls on song selections too from the Audio 20, Steering Controls & Songs display on the DIS.

I've also tried connecting a 8G USB Thumb drive with the USB cable provided without problem too. There're full controls on song selections from the USD drive too from the Audio 20, Steering Controls & Songs display on the DIS.

Songs on my USB drive were recorded in wma format.

Thanks unker!

I am currently using a USB thumbdrive, although the problem is I can only look for songs based on their title.... So its not worth buying the shuffle :-)

I also got the new 2G shuffle - still find it difficult to arrange the songs inside.

The Shuffle before this died a quick death cos it forces user to use the earphone that comes with it for song selection - really siow!

I got another 3 older shuffles - use them for jogging purpose.

Think 16G thumb drive will have plenty of songs for your selection.

My current 16G drive not fully loaded (13.5G) contains 3700 songs over 275 folders in wma format.
