Hi,

Jus got to knw that the Latest C180 going back to be a Kompressor again.

Is a 1600cc, not a CGI. If u wan a CGI, then u got to opt for a C200.

Was told that is becos of the COE pricing.

New batch of C180 Kompressor going to arrive in Dec2010. Currently selling at $140,888.

Lucky for those for got their C180 CGI, cos only a handful of units out on the road.

C180K 1.6SC 156bhp / 230Nm

C180 CGI 1.8turbo 156bhp / 250Nm

C200K 1.8SC (old ones) 184bhp / 250Nm

C200 CGI 1.8Turbo 184bhp / 270Nm

C250 CGI 1.8Turbo 204bhp/ 310Nm

by the way, drag coefficient (Cd) wise - old C200k was 0.27, C180K BE, C180CGI, C200CGI C250 CGI is 0.26

C180K 1.6SC 156bhp / 230Nm

C180 CGI 1.8turbo 156bhp / 250Nm

I've test drive the above 2 models. The different 20 Nm can really makes the huge difference?? Coz the 1.6 SC kompressor is under power when I attempt to floor it.

C180K 230Nm at 2800RPM

C180 CGI 250Nm at 1600RPM

that's why....

That's why i say numbers onli tell half the story.

I've tested both the 1.6L C180K & C200K b4 the CGI models existed. I love the way the C-class looks and wanted to like it but somehow came out a little underwhelmed after the test drive (esp on the 1.6L). Was resigned to buying the A4 (onli keen on TC car) when I read somewhere that C-class has adopted TC and direct injection. Decided to test drive again and boy, what a difference in the way it drove!

Actualli, after factoring in the discounts and stuff, the C180 CGI onli costs a few k more. Considering OMV is higher by $7k and newer CGI tech and drives better, it's actualli a better deal.

That's why C&C prob stopped bringing it in as they can prob make more $$ from the C180K.

Hi there,

No more C180 CGI and it make sense to bring in the C180K to differentiate it with the C200. C180K will be the cheapest model in the C class range - CAT A and lower OMV

Yep, the differentation between the CGI C180 and C200 is quite narrow and kinda difficult to justify the $15k premium.

The CGI engines are such an improvement that the C180 CGI can hold its own. In fact, if u look around at the CGI equipped C-Class models currently on the roads, you see more C180s that C200s. Used to be the other way round for the kompressor models.
