Do update with pictures! I may become poisoned by you...must resist!!!:becky:

the only thing holding me back is heart pain to see the interior being torn apart to install the mods......I am always afraid that after they put it back...it will never be the same again..ie. sqeeking and panel sounds may develop...

Some installers can be cheap, but they might not have the expertise in Merc. They might even use bare screwdrivers to force out the panels.

I have a regular installer which I go to since my corolla G9 days, 7 years back. They take care of all things, screws, panels etc. Workmanship is good, and no signs of removal can be seen. A STAR diagnostic is also on standby in case the SRS light or ECU light comes on. I have even asked them to set Seat belt warning off...

For this ICE project, the following was added:

- Kenwood DNX 7200 with Navigation

- Pure Highway DAB Digital Radio

- Unify DVB Digital TV

- Ipod 160GB

- Reverse camera

- Soundproofing of rooftop

Waiting for my steering control interface to arrive, then try to see whether can be fitted.

ICE was from my previous ride, cost me about $5K+. Now should be much cheaper, maybe below $3K.

Ordered Scosche W203 double din faceplate and wiring harness from US, about $50. Labour is $300, soundproofing of rooftop is $450. Done at Wee Heng Auto at Eunos, took 2 days. They specialise in integrating Navigation and TV tuners into original LCD panels. Saw cars like the new S class and E class there, even Volkswagen.

Yes, Ah Boon is the guy! Just love his dedication to his work. Wah... Your ICE really solid man... Mine can't even smell smoke... All sold?

Used to put an under-seat woofer on my previous ride. W203 has a railing or bracket below, so no empty spaces... Thinking of improving the bass without having a box woofer.

All were sold, some to Singaporeans, an Indonesian & the HU went to an Italian.

After selling the W203 to my younger Bro, he didn't wanted the ICE.

He & his wife cannot put in their cabin bag with the big woofer there.

They both are working for SIA.

Likewaise after buying the W211, I retired from ICE!
