Juz to share my experience with this CEL. Got my W211 (Avantgarde w panno roof) 2 mths ago. A few days later the orange diagnostic lite came on...took it to MBM they said it's leaking air in one of 2 tubes from the Kompressor blower & gotto strip engine manifold lah dunno what...

so took it to C&C (was on last month of warranty) they fix the air leak in the blower pipe but the diagnostic lite still comes on but C&C told me it will cos the ECU & diagnostic wiring needs to be replaced as its damaged by oil or something....they ordered the parts (ECU, wiring, solenoid lah & dunno what else) came back 2 weeks later to C&C when parts arrived & had the ECU with all the wiring replaced in 1 full day...alot of hassle as I've to keep going back to Pandan Loop but good thing is now it drives like a beauty :D

& fortunately I still have warranty to cover me.

Towkay,

Also happened to me once when I pump Caltex 95. After about 15mins of driving on Caltex 95, the CEL lighted. I ignored. I pump back Caltex 98 Platinum on the next tank. Amazingly, the Light went off. I suspect is Low Octane Level running too lean. Not having any problem since I pump back Caltex Platinum 98. Did encountered the same problem on my Camry previously.

hmm... problems with Caltex 95? maybe, maybe not...

don't think it's the level of the octane, mate... i've been on Esso 5000 since day 1 and everything's been good so far...

Same problem happened to my W211 recently. Took more than 1 day to replace sensor, and have to wait for wiring from Germany, and replacement of wiring may take 2-3 days!
