Hi bros,

May I ask where will be good to knock out dents as my 2mth old w204 has a very deep dent on the side of the Bonnet :( no paint chip must be done by a lorry!

Hi Amos,

you can drive to Capitol car park, there's a specialist there doing this... (is at a corner, can see one when you drive there).

cheers

hi bro

Lye Designs is good but ive heard of a few less positive experiences with them. However, they are excellent are PDR.

If you live in the west eg. Jurong,

I recommend this guy called Gary who does PDR for alot of people my car included.

I had experience with Gary as well...i had always gone to Lye but that time decided to try Gary since he is mobile ...let's just say i have to go to Lye Design to get the less than perfect job rectified.

There is a difference with the availability of a controlled workshop environment with adequate lighting as well as skill in this process.

C&C will most likely outsource it anyway. So u have no control over the quality of work...the plus point is u can bang table at C&C untill u get it fixed nicely cos they will be charging u a premium for it anyway.

Another minus is the down time...I suspect C&C will take one whole day at least for a 30-60min job. Then again if they give u courtesy car to use can consider.

After considering the above, if u have spare credits raring to be used up, then go ahead. :)

Personally, I prefer NOT to deal with C&C as much as possible...always feels like a carrot head whenever i step into that place...haha

Hi Guys,

I got a dent on my W212 when the ride was less than a month old.

Got hit by a stone while on a trip to MY.....very sim thia since!

Though I used to go to Lye Design - result outcomes were so so!

So today I went to pay this place a visit after hearing so much abt their skills.

Knew that they have existed and operating there a long time

Field Report

I called them yesterday to make appointment and I was told just walk in & no appt. needed.

This morning I went there and they were attending to 3 other cars.

The boss name Winston inspected my dent and say it can correct it at best to 90%.

Told him to go proceed and he attended to me personally while his other workers were attending to the other 3 cars.

Meanwhile another 2 more rides turned up and they have to wait.

Winston tried massaging the dent by poking a lever under the dent.

He told me not easy cos "Suprise!" , my bonnet is made of Aluminium.

He said unlike steel " Al has no memory" i.e to spring back to it's original shape.

Then he "poked", "massaged", "knocked", "banged" "poked","massaged" at the dent for a qood 8 to 10 mins.

He then turned to me and said now he can get it to as good as 95% of original condition.

He took another look, then did a few more bangs with the same "plastic chisel shape tool" on the dent, poked & massaged with the lever tool and said job done!

Winston told me the charges was $36 and asked me to comment on the dent!

I kept searching for the dent!

I even took out a micro fibre cloth to wipe clean the shinny black bonnet.

OMIGOD!!!!! Is my lao hua eyes playing tricks on me?

I can't see the dent anymore on the shiny black bonnet!

I gip him the THUMBS UP! My face was smiling happily as I drove home.

To give it a finer QC check, when I reach home - told my wife to see the repair dent job!

OMIGOD! again! My wife eagle eyes could not find the dent too! IT'S MAGIC!!!!! :hand:

Not to put down Lye Design which I have went with my W203 & W211 before.

Beside having to make appts. in advance, dents were still visually present though improved and had to pay much more.

I did mentioned abt that "Free Lance" guy!

Winston told me to avoid him saying he caused more harm than good!

I actually text that FL guy a few weeks ago.

After few texts with no reply, he finally text back that he was busy.

He agreed to do the job for me last Sat but when I text him again a few times last week - KNN! Totally MIA!

BTW Winston told me that they will be moving soon to Tg Katong!

He proudly "bragged" - He's the original, others are copy cats and he

was the 1st guy to start this in Singapore.

So guys - if U got dents - go & gip him a try and find it out yourself!

Yes, Winston was the original... when he first started PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) in the early/mid 90's with another ang mo chap, his workshop was at Dempsey Rd (old army camp)...subsequently he bought over the business and moved to Capitol Bldg car park ...always very pleased with his attitude and workmanship...

...tried Lye before...find his workmanship mediocre and charges quite high...not very pleasant experience too...anyway dent removal is not their main business :hand:

yes, he was the original and he has a damn lousy attitude when he started off, quite arrogant then..saying the rest of the people doing these repairs are lousy and no good...and he charges very expensive then. Nowadays, he should be better as i noitced his prices have come down in comparable to Lye designs and his attidude has improved, although not the skill, I went to him recently for a dent, after trying repair for aawhile, he say this is the best he can do, guess what? I went to lye design and got it improved....so i will say, depends on his mood lah...

gotta agree with blacknight... he used to be alittle arrogant la... but seems he has mellowed alot... and wl now chat and tcss to whoever comes to do the PDR.

has been his customer many times over the years... usually like when i 'collect' a few dents..

Few months back - he removed the dent on my W212 Aluminium bonnet and my wife eagle eyes couldn't find the dent anymore. I was impressed!

Like U 110% satisfaction!

Previous trips to Lye Design were big disappointments - being there twice.

Has to make prior appt. only.

PDR no need appt. just walk in!

After 1 dent repaired - members forever - got discount.....hahahaha!

When I was @ Capitol before he moved to the current Sin Min VICOM I saw he had a few guys with him. I had to wait for about 15 mins cos at least 4 or 5 cars were earlier there.

He attended to my ride personally!

My impression of him not KL or arrogant leh....maybe no more....hahaha!
