IIRC E200ML or Pre Face Lift W211 are assembled before July 2006.

The E200K is the Face Lifted model

Main diff beside the more pointed front shape, lights, bumpers is that E200ML engine power output is 164 bhp whereas the E200k gets 20 hp more @ 184 bhp making it a more livelier car to drive over the pre FL.

All these changes explain the price gap of an used E200ML over a slightly newer E200K.

There were 2000+ changes made in the FL W211, mainly to address reliability issues.

Cosmetically, the differences lies in the headlights, grill, rear lights cluster and a chrome strip across the boot.

For the C200ML, there were 3 changes!

IIRC

Started as C200ML pre 2003 with M111 engine.

Then followed by C200ML with new M271 engine.

In early 2004, the C200ML had a face lift with a complete change in dash meters & clear "peanut" headlamps.

Then eventually came the W204 C200.

The 1st C200ML with M111 engine has a lower engine output.

Engine known to be "harsh & noisy".

The M271 engine whether in 180 or 200 or 250 is still in the current

W204, SLK200, CLK200 W212, C207, A207
