Performance Boost for A160

I have been driving my A160 for about 5 years now. Have tried just about everything in the market to improve the performance and the following are my experiences. Anybody else have try other forms of tuning ? I am interested to know if Speed Boost (accelerator) helps for A160.

1) Denso Iridium Sparks Plug - Marginal improvement but can't really feel it.

2) EcoTek CB-26P - Doesn't work for my A Class although pple in UK reported success.

3) KNN air filter - Good but still cannot get rid of the flat spots.

4) Surbo - Strongly recommended. Can feel the diff and its fun to drive.

5) The magnetic fuel line stuff - Got it from friend just to try. Returned the next 2 days as I don't realized any effect.

6) Z-Stab - Got the fake one... threw away.

One more mod is a heavy right foot :P

I owned the A160 for 3 years and have never mod the car....only my right foot. Always step hard to chiong and that car can really chiong but not the fastest.

Sprint Booster it is. I was skeptical of its effectiveness because i never heard reviews on a A class.

Tried it on my previous ride but took it out. It does give you more pedal feel, as in when you press the accelerator you can feel the power come in. Otherwise at time when you press the accelerator it takes awhile for the power to kick in. As for real hp it doesn't do anything there. Not sure how it would work for the A Class though, guess some workshops might allow you to test first before you buy.

May i know where you did your Surbo installation at?

Sounds interesting.

;)

I've tried the surbo in 3 different configuration and I think I finally got it right now along with a custom air filter. The car becomes pretty urgent once the surbo is activated. Try it out, it's fun.

You can call Heng @ 6 368 0-100 and tell him you have a A160 so he can prepare the air filter for you. His operates from his home at 120 Jalan Jurong Kechil, as his business is mainly overseas these days.

I understand it creates the effects of a light supercharging via a vortex induction.... If that makes sense depends on one's faith :)

Once install properly, you activate it by double pumping the accelerator when the rpm is at about 2200 - 2500.

From a user point of view, i notice 2 effects

1) the car accelerate faster when in sports mode.

2) once activated when the car is moving, you can accelerate while maintaining the throttle position.
