New W211 owner

Hi Everyone,

Firstly a big shout out to all.

Bought a '05 W211 from Republic Auto. Arrived yesterday.

Need advice on how to replace HU to one with GPS,etc. Costs involved and where to get it done, if at all possible.

I've looked at the forums but getting a headache going thru them.

Perhaps the Guru's here can help.

I just bought an '08 W211 and it came with some sort of aftermarket bluetooth controller (picture link below) with only 3 buttons (bluetooth logo, +, -) on it, I'm told it was installed by C&C. Unfortunately the car did not come with instructions for this bluetooth unit. Hope some kind soul could point me to where I could get instructions on how to operate this.

I dun think C&C retrofitted this after mkt BT.

Probably C&C SE got the after mkt BT fitted for the 1st owner.

If U want someone to take a look, I will recommend you to AutoSpritze.

They are pretty good in all these after mkt. gadgets.

Or U might wanna consider a more complete retrofit with Fiscon BT.

It will fully integrate with the oem system of your W211 including steering control & DIS (Driver Inform System - your on board computer display)

Klooless can't view yr link, is it mounted at e gear shift location? What u wanna know? I try to get e infro for u.

I know the late W211 has BT like the W204 but not with a control like this and some more instal liddat?

Press the Bluetooth button to search and pair with your phone

After that is done, when phone call comes in, your car speakers will ring

Answer call by pressing the Bluetooth button. Talk.

However to make calls, u need to press from your phone still.

This is fixed by cc and the supplier is tomo leather.

Picture is not what I've posted but the TS has posted.

I checked his link & got the picture lah!

Told U I know that the later W211 cums with factory BT with color LCD screen.

Saw that on East539 aka Ah Hwee W211 NGT. I dun know when the production date starts.

MY2008 might not have the BT and probably from MY2009 onwards

i.e from 2nd half 2008 Production dates.

My MY2008 W211 smlc also dun have!:Cry:

TOMO-CSE leather also do local fitting of leather upholstery, reverse sensors and reverse camera for C & C.

Dun confuciused with Tomo Leather hor...hahahaha!

I remembered I kena "snooked" by my previous W203 SE & paid $800+ him for the reverse sensors.

When I had the W211, Unker brought the car to Tomo-Cse to instal the reverse sensors at much cheaper $$$.

Those boxed LCD RC next to the rear windscreen mirror on C&C Mercs is fitted by Tomo-Cse.

Thanks everyone for the most helpful info. Look like this this Bluetooth is very limited in terms of functionality and integration with the Audio 20. Looking at the controller, at first I could not believe it came from C&C, then I saw quite a few W211 at Republic Auto with the same controller beside the gear shift. :whistle:

Thanks for the tip Unker. Looks like I'm sold on the Fiscon Pro, does AutoSpritze have it? Read in some other thread that Blackknight has lobang for $780.

The other thing that bugs me about the car is the different colours between the low beam (Xenon) and the rest of the lights (high beam, fog lights, parking lights and number plate lights) do you have any recommendations (types of bulbs) for getting the lot changed to make the colours a uniform whiteness.

maybe the aftermarket BT might not be from C&C in the first place when the 1st owner took it from them , it might be Republic Auto took the trade in car & retrofit it on the ride to make it better for 2nd hand resale.

Don't think it's from Republic Auto, I've looked at other W211 from '08 at other dealers, quite a number of those cars have this ugly controller stuck on, at the same position.
