transmission problem

can any body help i am having transmission problem

when start engine there is a clicking sound and idle goes up and down

when engage gear the sound disapppeared

from 1st gear to second gear the jerking is very bad third to forth gear slight jerk.

and the best part is this happen only some time and not all the time

please advise i driving a w140 97 model S280

and possible recommand a reliable workshop for me

Did you change you transmission fluid? If not give it a try. Changes of the transmission fluid is at 60,000k interval.
