I would like to introduce myself to the forum. I am on the most serious fans of Mercedes and do all kinds of electrical modifications to my car and others.

I have been invited to this forum by a fellow member and look forward to assisting you with being able to understand what is needed in order to add electrical options to you car.

I have 8 years experience and have done some unusual mods.

Please ask any question and I will do what I can to assist. you will see me assisting in threads. If you want to ask me something please send me a link to the thread so I can follow it.

My email is [email protected]

I am a friend of MBENZNL in the Netherlands whom some of you have bought parts from in the past. I also collaborate with SunMan in Houston whom some of you may remember for putting Keyless Go in his W203.

Apart from that ... anything goes. So long as you use original Mercedes parts you will always be happy.

Hi there,

Warm welcome indeed.......

I have a W221 S350L facelifted and a R171 2008 Pre-facelift SLK200, imported from Japan.

both units were parrellel imported. both units come with GPS, bt only the W221 has it working, as the R171 i cld nt locate the map, despite trying all sources, including KBS, C&C n even the distributor in Japan. haha.

any luck u can come up with the map? or do something? this sounds really dumb as you are based down under, but I was thinking is it possible to use another car map to "duplicate" into my R171?

thks

Ivan

Hi - is it possible to fit keyless go on an Pre-FL W211?

Yes it is. However it will really hurt your wallet. Think around 10K. This type of job has 3 stages.

a) Buying the parts

B) Installing the parts and coding

c) Waiting for the new keys to arrive from Mercedes.

Would take several days to install.

There are two possible options. The R171 pre-facelift shares the same DVD map as 2006 S-Class and CL-Class. So it would be a matter of installing the correct head unit and the correct navigation DVD drive.

Option 2 is to install an NTG 2.5 and use the NTG 2.5 map. This means throwing out some hardware and installing new wiring but at least it will be compatible with SG.

Zacc,

Since you've been 'appointed' the sole agent on this MB Command APS services, may I suggest that you 'park' an exclusive thread under the trader section so that consumers could easily reference to instead of searching for a couple of threads scattering in a few sections. For your consideration.

My 2 penny feedbacks!

Cheers! :)
