maybe driver feel a bit too "loud" running on the rd with DRL on when bright sunny sky is juz above our head with no fog and 100m clear visibility ahead.. hence juz off it :becky:

i do notice less audi driver turn it on now when they are the early adopter and proud user of their bright LED DRL on their models :bounce:

My new W204 is one of the only 3 cars brought into S'pore by C&C with DRL in the Intelligent Light option. I simply love this & have been using it since Day1.

My dad was driving to fetch me one day and I was expecting to see the DRLs from afar...

But as the car came towards me I realised that he turned it off!

I then went to the car hurriedly and then asked him why he turned it off. He says to 'save power'. :bounce:

Don't think you can save much by turning it off. Just leave it on.

On another note, I found out the real reason why he did it. It's because the DRL is tied up with the lights staying on even after locking the car, and he didn't like that. Haven't found a way to separate the two functions yet... Yes yes, the manual... Lazy lah :becky:

There is much truth in what you said!

But then again, the DRL comes standard on the Avant Garde model, right?

Of course one can opt for the Elegance but the wood trim in the Elegance is too old-fashioned (in my opinion).

I tend to think that in our highly-urban context, it is not necessary (just like fog lights).

No bro, w211 don't come with DRL only 212 comes as standard. It's more for looks than anything else. According to carlsson, less than 10 ordered in Singapore. So the owner will be one of the proud few. Just my luck that I opt for AMG kit so late. If can fit, I would surely use myself.

Hockey DRLs come std only for W212 Avantgarde models.

Some PIs retrofit them locally for Classic & Elegance models.

dont bet on the 3-yr warranty. It was given as 3 yrs for a reason. 3 yr and 1 day it will spoil ... hahaha ...

when headlamps are on, DRLs go off so as not to blind oncoming traffic.

iirc, only those with ILS hv both headlamps and DRLs available at the same time. In this setup, the headlamps/DRLs are dimmed suitable to avoid being overly glaring.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

My W212 came with ILS. Its a cool feature. However, at times, I feel that i have no control over the headlights.

As long as she sense a ilttle dim, it ll auto ON. So, headlights on curtain occassion is ON/OFF, ON/OFF. Abit irritating at times.

My DRL is set to OFF as i felt that its not a need, its like a "showoff". Anyway, when ILS sense Dim location, it will auto ON - All 6 points of light on the front.
