Advice needed - Engine Checklight

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum. I have been driving around my recently acquired (~2 weeks) 06-registered W211 with big smile until today. The engine checklight came on while it was running. Surprisingly, there is no scrollable message though.

Can't think of anything unusual except the driving under heavy downpour this morning. Hopefully, it didn't impair the electronics in the process.

Could anyone offer me some advice? I would be thankful if someone could provide me the contact of a qualified workshop (I.e. with the know-how and proper diagnostic tools) or two that I can talk to. I am not quite a believer of the Authorized agent.

Thanks, Ken

Visit MBM.

Bro Cklasse is right!

Go pay MBM a visit!

Likely to be an engine MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) or O2 sensor problem.

Thanks to all esp bro CKlasse. I did exactly what he suggested and it didn't take too long before the smile on my face got fully restored. :becky:

Power to MBM! A resounding demonstration of their breadth and depth of expertise/knowledge in Merc.

Cheers, ken

Don't think I am technically able enough to explain other than sharing it's a common problem with M272 engines on the E-Class and CLS, but not the S-Class.

Now I monitor - no news is good news. So far so good and fingers crossed.
