Ride Quality between 17 and 18" Rims

Hi

Can any bros here help to share their experience of upsizing their rims to 18"? Is there a significant difference in ride quality and comfort between 17 and 18"?

I'm debating whether to upsize from the stock 17".

Also wondering which are the good "light" rims that I can get so that performance isn't adversely impacted by the upsizing.

Appreciate any help please.

Thanks!

I've changed from 17 to 19 on my non-Merc car. Ride quality a little bit harder but not intolerable. 17 to 18 should not have any drastic effects, unless your butt is super sensitive. Many bros here changed from 17 to 18 too.

Brabus, Carlsson, DPE... the sky is the limit!

Good luck and happy searching!

sure can tell the difference....now that I sold my 18" staggered and revert to 17" stock...the stability aspect quite noticeable...go for staggered 18 or 19 and you will surely enjoy your ride better...my FC wasn't too bad then... I did about 9.2 ~ 9.5km/lit...the choice is yours...

i had upgraded from my stocks 16" to 18" replica AMG rim. For me, it has drastic change in the ride comfort. The road noise become very audible & the "howling" sound is also very loud. Maybe its because my tires are Firenza brand that causes the loud road noise. I think the tires brand is very impt. May change to Yokohama(Japan) tires.

btw, im driving a W203.

Cheerz!

bro tommy...now i can understand why...Firenza tires if mistaken is made in China...new tires suppose to be quiet at least for a couples of mths...i was using the Eagle FI Asymmetric and then Bridgestone RE001 in place of those high end brands...

Just went to see some BBS rims today... nice and pretty light (10+ kg for 18") considering its Euro TUV compliant. Price is mighty impressive as well I must say... Poisonous...

I wonder if anyone wants to buy a set, maybe can nego for better price hehe
