Hi Bros,

I have a five tiny dents on my car, caused by people who does not know how to open doors.

Is there any workshop that can knock them back that does not cost a bomb? Average how much would it cost. Anyone did in the forum did it before? Thanks.

mycarforum says there is

Lye Design - proper shopfront and all (? cost)

and

Gary Dent removal ($10 a pop) DIY man

Haven't tried either.. have got 1 dent from car door opening and just isnt worth the trouble to bring in yet.. :P

might want to check out MCF/internet for their numbers.

Personally, I would avoid the 1st one... bad experience. I can recommend another. PM me if you want. :censored:

Tried Gary but not as good as Lye Design or Capitol Carpark.

Lye must make appt or wait in line & so is Capitol but Gary

can call to see where is convenient for him.

Cost fairly subjective depending on where it's located for if it's

at very difficult to access location, then prepare to pay more. It's

roughly $20 a dent to $50 if it's for very diff place.

Hi Guys,

My past few times with Lye Design have been good!

Like Bro Luci Ride said gotta make appt in advance.

Ah Lye or Tommy Soh

or

64833353

His wife usually take care of the appts.

Since a few of you asked what happened, I shall tell my story...

I usually go to PDR at Capitol Carpark but decided to try Lye bec he (the old uncle) was highly recommended by many. Made an appointment one morning and went there on time.

When I arrived, the place was very crowded and the auntie there looked at my car, quoted me $70 bec the dent was quite big but also offered to fix another smaller dent for free. She said it'll take about 45mins and the uncle just started work on my car even though it was just parked along the side (outside) of the shop.

Then, within 15mins (I had already gone downstairs for a drink), the auntie called me to say my car was done!

I went back upstairs and the auntie was rushing me to remove my car as the place was very crowded. I took a glance, noticed that the dent was still quite noticeable, and asked why the dent was still quite visible? She simply replied it's like that one! Since the place was really getting packed, I drove off and when I reached home, I noticed the other "free" dent he fixed was even more obvious! The original dent was still quite visible and next to it, there was another dent caused from the inside i.e he inadvertently knocked his tool on the inside and caused a dent!

I'll never ever go back to this workshop again even if it were the last shop on earth!

Anyway, I feel much better after venting my frustration. :becky:

Do you guys know that this way of removing dent will cause more harm to your ride? If the dent on your door is not reachable from the top of your windows, the guys need to drill a hole at the side so that the toold can go in, unless you already have a hole for the tools to go in, then they will just put a plastic plug to cover the hole, no anti rust treatment, after few months, check the hole, it start to rust.

OK if the tools can go in thru the window gap, did u see the tip of the tool, quite sharp, this sharp tip will then message the inner metal of the door for the dent to come up. what happen next, the inside where the sharp tip is rubbing will rust.

All this rust will happen from the inside and you can't see, major demage in long term. I was in US and saw all this happen and alot of complaint.

you can see it in youtube. do a search for paintless dent remover, plenty there, what u see there is simple job done and it look very good, but when u do your car, do you know there is alot of part that kana block from inside and cannot do, like if the dent fall on the part that is begin block by the side impact bar, then too bad liao, cannot push it out.

And don't even think of buying the cheap pop the dent kit hor, super cannot make product too, this US people are just too good in their marketing Ads....i happen to be that sucker, now i repaint my SLK once a year to get rid of all those dent and scratch.
