Hi guys,

Basically I'm intending to switch to 18 inchers. Had a few designs and choices in mind liao. Now here comes the big BUT...

I've been trying to get info from almost every website that I've visited but can't seem to get the confirmation that I want.

Tried looking up here also but to no avail.

Hence I decided to ask u bros(experts:bounce:) here about the following:

1) My ride comes with the 17" multispokes, but what is the width and offset? Is the pcd 112? Just to REALLY confirm?

2) So what will be the suitable specs for 18?:

- Width?

- Offset?

- Tyre size?

- If some recommend staggered setup, what will the the specs?

3) Any improvement in handling for staggered setup other than looks?

Pls advice bros...

Many thanks in advance :bounce::bounce:

i m no expert but can share what i hv done to my C200 (W204)...

1. correct, pcd is 112

2. i m on 18" staggered, tyres size front 225/40/18 & rear 255/35/18. if not mistaken the offset around 50 +/-

3. not so much on look...you can't really tell from side profile, maybe from behind...staggered definitely improve handling....

hope it helps...cheers

PCD=112

For Normal Setup

18" Front/Rear:

8J x 18

Offset50

225/40/18

For Staggered Setup

18" Front:

8J x 18

Offset50

225/40/18

18" Rear:

8.5J x 18

Offset54

255/35/18

For staggered, you have a little less choice when swapping tires esp when one puncture.

I see...

Can I know what is your rim width? is your 50+/- offset the same for all 4 wheels?

Thanks for replying :becky:

Bro,

Make sure the rims centre bore is 66.6mm.

Sometimes rim centre bore can be 57.1mm.

So dun get the wrong one.

IMHO,

225/40/18 all round will be good enough.

Going down to 255/35/18 will see not much

diff in tyre wall height.

Broader tyres also mean U pay more for tyres & comparatively

higher fuel consumption.

Staggered looks good but cannot rotate tyres.

It's ok for staggered U will likely change the front tyres earlier.

If U want better handling, good to consider adding on coil overs & ARBs

Rp 1 worth!:becky:

I'm using the 18" AMG styling VI Titanium Grey with csc 3 225/40 front and 255/40 rear. It handles nicely but it takes a fuel penalty. I used to get about mid 12 km/L now I only average 10 km/L

7.5 x 18 and 8.5 x 18

Tyre sizes are 225/40/18 and 245/35/18
