Hi Bros and Sis,

Happy CNY to you.

Tried searching some info regarding NGT here but not fruitful.

Like to know from the owners here how is the relaibility of this E200 NGT (2007 &2008)? Any signifcant power loss as compare to the normal FL E200. How long does it takes to do a refueling at the CNG station? Do all NGT comes with Comand APS?

Thanks!

oh...someone call me ah..i just back to sg last week only. so now still blur blur......

ok, for the NGT questions, what i am driving now is 09 production, but there shouldn't be any differences from 07 & 08, except maybe for the sound systems.

For power wise i feel there is no significant power loss compare to normal FL E200, even there is, i think i also never feel any much different, until now quite stable, no issues at all. but if u are aiming for a pre-loved one, it is still best to have it inspect before you sign the dotted line.

For CNG refueling, refuel duration greatly depends on which CNG station you go, if you go SEMCROP Jalan Buroh, the refueling time there will take quite a while, coz they are still using the old CNG Pump system which require the pump pressure to charge back to normal before any refuel, but if you are going to the CNERGY Station at Old Toh Tuck Road, the refueling time is no different from the petrol station, quite fast, within 5-8 mins, all done.

Another one is SMART Energy at Serangoon North, although their pump systems is quite ok, but due to their stupid 10am to 10.30pm operation hrs or early closure due to not enough CNG rules, i have not been refuel there for quite some time. They have another station at Mandai too, it is operating for 24hrs, but i never been there before.

As for the Comand APS questions, No!! it is an Option. You have to order & pay EXTRA for it, but if i am not wrong, there are some Pre-FL NGT have the Comand APS included FOC for some promotion during 2006, i might be wrong though. other than that all is flitted with the standard Audio20.

Thanks bro, for the detailed explanation.

A noob question... If the car comes with in-built GPS, does it = Comand APS?

Also, understand the NGT at one time was going for abt $130K+ as I received a mailer. Is it the late 2008 or early 2009 batch?

Cheers!

Built in GPS? normally if has a Factory fitted GPS mean Comand APS le. they dun call it Built in GPS one, unless is they out those aftermarket GPS in it lah. As for the $130k is believe is after all rebates thrown in, but as fas as I know, now C&C currently dun bring in any W211 NGT for the time being. they mostly now waiting for the W212 NGT to be launch, but when i also duno.

Just a price for you to know, the selling price for W211 NGT early last year is 168,888 before any rebates or any juices you manage to squeeze for your SE.

Just another info for you, below are some images of Audio20 & Comand APS for your reference, so you will instantly know which is which when you are viewing the ride.

Wow...bro you are good. Mine is the old Audio 20, so a bit confuse what is Command APS. One last question, those NGT after 2006 model is keyless go right?

Thanks again.

well i am not sure if all FL NGT are fitted with keyless go as standard? I believed some have it on board is also some sort of a promotion before the end of all W211 line, be it NGT or normal. be coz if you take a close look the new W212, it doesn't come with keyless go & so make sure you check whether it has the following to confirm if it does has the keyless go included.

Engine Start/Stop Button on Gear Knob (FL version):

Button at very door handler for instant lock/unlock:

Hahaha... a picture paints a thousand words....

Thanks bro, you are of a great help. Still deciding to change to a 2nd Hand NGT or E230 (only reason is the 7 GTronic). Wanted to go for the Volvo S80 2.5T but CO strongly against it.

Cheers!

nothing against NGT but if u can, get the V6 with 7-GTronic ... smooth rev and better drive ... same advice even if u are comtemplating E200

:)

Wat's wrong with S80 ... btw, Volvo has the best and most comfortable seats, solid drive and safety ...

my comment :

NGT - 1.8L Kompressor + CNG = cheaper rod tax and running cost. The 5 spd auto is actually quite reliable. Understand cost about $25-30 per CNG topup.

E230 7-GTronic - smooth.... high tax, pray auto dont spoilt ! Cool AMG body kit.

S80 - cheaper...also lousy resale value = same, or worst off. Parts can be an issue....costly ! Tax dont need to say highest among the 3 compared.

The choice is yours !

Just to add on, if you spot an used E200 (by C&C) after July 2006, chances are it is the facelifted version and it will have Keyless Go. If you get a NGT after that period, naturally, it will have Keyless Go too. Check it yourself to be safe, don't take our word for it.

Facelifted NGTs are awfully rare though. Those '08 units on sale now are extremely overpriced, skip those, seriously.

I am in the market for a NGT (E200 in general, actually) too. It think it is great value. 'Lower' OMV but it also means I don't have to pay the gahmen so much for PARF. (Seriously, pay them money for them to spend, then at the end return me half of it? Haha...)

Another FYI, about a month ago, I was like what, late by 15 mins, a '07 July NGT E200k was sold for 88K only. Sure the mileage was abit high, but for a facelifted MY07 unit it sure was worth it.

That 07' 89K NGT, I saw it in the advert too... called up sold already. But these cases are rare and few. Not in a hurry to change though... sometime just itchy backside, just wanted something different for a change :P. That's why ask about NGT and 7-GTronics (also S80). Else, just keep to my trusted C200 till a good time to swop.

Cheers!

Hee... nothing wrong with the S80 to me, just that CO does not like the shape of the car. Very tempted for the power and and space as compared to my current ride.

Cheers!

yep, you are right, the cost for refuel is quite low actually. pump at Toh Tuck with empty tank is max $25.90 for full tank & over $30 if you pump at Serangoon North, so i everytime go Toh Tuck refuel.

no lah, i stay around Upper East Coast, but due to my work, i need to go west side for meeting quite often, so since Toh Tuck station is near, i just refuel there most of the time.

am currently driving an aug 2006 pre FL ngt. :). so far so good. feel that running on gas is smoother than running on petrol. power wise more or less the same while cruising.. only during overtaking then will see the power diff.. i refuel @ toh tuck even tho serangoon is nearer cos it's cheaper and seems to have more mileage. refuel in melaka for 14RM, could last all the way past tuas toll before it went empty. Only problem is the engine being unable to startup once in awhile. :D
