Sound Quality of Audio 20

:music: i find the sound quality of our HU Audio 20 very mediocre...any idea whether sound quality can be improved? i m not a big fan for AMP so if it can can be tune....it will be great :whistle:

I reckon the best upgrade you can do to improve the sound from your audio 20 system is to install some easy to drive, nice sounding coaxial speakers in your car.

There's nothing to tune on the Audio 20 except Bass, Treble, Mid, L/R Balance! :smile:

If U can't live with the Audio 20, U might have to consider after mkt options.

Eh.. I thought the Audio 20 sounds fine on my E200.

Got bass.. got treble... and can hear the vocals quite clearly..

Maybe i'm tone deaf...

Anyway, back to the Audio 20 - is it just my car or does the radio sometimes fade in and out during a song?

Juz do an upgrade of ICE.

Standard audio 20 is only stereo. upgraded will give you a 5.1 or surround sound which allows you to have the center stage feeling.

price ranges from 3k to the sky's limit.

Will be doing up my basic ICE after CNY......

I noticed in my e200, there's already 3 speakers filling the dashboard (near the front glass pane), so I guess i have already got 6 speakers plus the woofer rite?.

What is the upgrade that you were mentioning that will give you 5.1 surround? From C&C or you go to the audio shop like pin liang?

It does not matter how many speakers you have.

What matters how the sound is delivered.

There are many factors that contribute to MUSIC or NOISE or SOUND

To put it simply you would need a processor unit to achieve a good sound effect.

The purpose of the processor is to channel different levels of sound at different interval to different speakers.

Current stock audio only sends out sounds simultaneously adjustable to the left and right only. which is called Stereo. For Mono is it send out at equal intervals and cannot transfer sounds to the left or right speakers.

There are many audio shops in SG.

The main difference is the professional doing the setup and tuning.

That is where the premium comes in.

One can pay thousands of dollars more but another has a cheaper set which delivers a better effect, this is the skill of the tuner. Of coz u can't do much if you have mediocre equipment.
