Exxonmobil and Caltex Pump prices Island-wide increased!

As of Tuesday, 20 October 2009, 11.30am, we can confirm that Exxonmobil and Caltex Island-wide have increased its pump prices.

Here is the order of price movements:

* Caltex - 8.00pm at 19th October 2009

* Exxonmobil - 8.30am at 20th October 2009

* Grade 92: Increased by 5 cents (Caltex & Exxonmobil)

* Grade 95: Increased by 5 cents (Caltex & Exxonmobil)

* Grade 98: Increased by 5 cents (Exxonmobil)

* Premium: Increased by 5 cents (Caltex)

* Diesel: Increased by 5 cents (Caltex & Exxonmobil)

Just a question because when the petrol hit $2 many months ago, there are reports of people giving up driving or converting to CNG.

Will increase in petrol help to curb vehicle numbers on the road? that is, it will force some to give up car or drive less.

i believe, knee-jerk reaction, will see some pple going on public transport and resulting in increase in public tpt fares ... but over a period of time, pple will soon get used to this and get back to their vehicles ...

Good eg. when they introduce 35% surcharge for taxi during peak period.

At first taxis were Qing at nearly every taxi stands.

KNS! Now when I return back from Pleasure Island, not only long Q of passengers at HFC taxi stand but also long Q of people waiting for their booked taxis.

$3.50 booking + 35% on meter charge - probably Ah Kong aka company paying the fare.....muahahaha!

dun believe taxi uncles when they say business bad ... all BS ....

peak period and morning time, flagging taxi on the road almost like kena lottery ...

some you wave at them, they can wave back at you somemore !

i rather take bus ... although some SBS drivers drive at snail-pace and jam brake as if legs are heavy like lead ... making me want to puke 5 min into the ride !
