Can our new C-Class side mirror tilt downwards when we reverse park??

I read this "secrets of W204" on some website that says is possible.

"To set and activate tilt down mirror when engage reverse gear, put ignition key to position 2, adjust passenger side mirror, press "m" memory button and its done."

Dunno if this is this true or not?? I don't dare not try.

Yes, the tilt down function can be programmed as described. It is a very helpful aid to gauge the parking lot, kerb etc when reversing. The tilt angle can be adjusted to your preference. Not to worry, the moment you engaged Drive, & start to move forward at about 10 km/h, the mirror will revert back to the original setting.

I have it on my C200. Previous posts indicated it's not available on C180?

So C200 and above has this feature?? C180 confirm dont have??.... so sad...

Cars that have memory package will have this feature. C200 from C&C should all have memory package, PI I don't know. But for sure I know my C180 don't have also...

My previous lao bmw 318 registered in 2004 also have this feature... sigh...

Yes guys, reverse tilt function is only available with memory package. :-\

However, you dont need to turn the ignition to position 2. As long as engine is running also can.

Remember to put gear to "Reverse" first before you set the angle you wish to see whilst reversing. Ensure that left mirror button is pressed first. Set the angle you wish to see, press the "M" button followed by the arrow key pointing down on the directional keypad for the mirror.

Point to note: For owners of this feature, if sometimes you realise that the left mirror did not tilt down when in reverse, make sure the left mirror button has been pressed. Another thing is that you need to just "stretch" the mirror ie; using the directional keypad, press to all the extreme ends of the mirror: up, left, right, down, and reset the mirror.

That should help, if that doesn't means have to visit workshop already. :tongue1:

This also applies to the memory seats too if you realised that the seats do not move to your saved settings.

Cheers!

Hi, does anyone knows how to deactivite this mirror tilt function during reverse? My new c-coupe actually comes with this function, so whenever I engage my reserve gear, my passeger side rear wing mirror will tilt down. Is there a way to disable it? The user manual only teaches how to set it up and store it in memory. But never teaches how to reset or disable this function ley.

Any idea experts? Kum sia :becky:

Pak Henry!

Bro Arsenal is right!

1. Put your wing mirror selection to the right side and your left mirror will not dip when you reverse. or

2. Put it on left mirror setting, put in reverse gear then adjust the left wing mirror to your liking. Then pressed memory setting and it will stay that way whether you reverse or not or right or left wing mirror selection.

Rp1 worth! :becky:

Thanks for all the reply Bapaks (sirs).

Much appreciated. Solution seems to work. Now now... time to figure out that damm Navi. functions on the new command online thingy. Scratching head and tail to figure out how it works... apart from looking at the few hundred pages thick user manual

Managed to get the command online up to surf the web. Speed wise, seems quite ok. But I don't expect to use it to surf the net often as the screen is quite small - intend to use it in emergency like to find out where to makan or to find a particular brand of store in SG. The local weather prediction function seems to be quite accurate so far.

Good suggestion Pak... but... err... how many people there really knows the comand inside out is another set of challenging question :tongue1:

Moreover, teach this kind of thing, no moola to earn also. Unless they have discounted upgrades for Audio20 to Comand units after each sessions la :becky:
