hi guys,

The spec list i have for the c 180 BE has ambient lighting package. Is this the same as those you find in S Class where the side door panels have cinema effect lighting? :P

lastly have anyone seen a C Class with panoramic sunroof. I own a b class with panoramic sunroof, anyone knows if it opens the same way?

The ambient lighting is not the same as the S-Class. In the C-Class, the ambient lighting refers to the lighting on the interior door handles, the ash tray compartment, footwell lighting etc. It will not have the line of line below the dash like the S-Class.

As for the sunroof, it is different between the A/B-Class and the rest of the model ranges.

The A/B Classes only have a Louvered Panoramic Sunroof. Which means the sunroof is in individual glass plates and fold up like a deck of cards when opened.

As the C-Class, the panoramic means a 2piece glass which covers the entire roof of the vehicle. Only the front cabin roof can be opened, whereas the rear glass is just for "viewing" and can't open. Within the car, there is a bar which divides the front half and rear half, and this bar also acts as a protection in the event of rollovers, the entire roof will not cave in.

Hope this provides you with a more clearer understanding between a panoramic sunroof and a louvered sunroof.

Cheers!

hi .. as for the noise, i think its almost the same.....get the pan roof no regrets

my SE told me the pano roof is on indent case, the 10% finanical booster will no longer apply because trade-in car price will not be applicable when my c class arrives 4 mths later :(

Any forumers' SE can do otherwise for me? :)

Yes yes!! It's me... ;D Sorry had to run earlier than later. next time I'd stick around longer! But it was great to meet so many fellow merc drivers!!

I don't think the rain noise bothers me that much. Not that it is raining all the time. We love the roof and I think it's worth it. We had to wait for about 4 months too to get our car, but it's well worth the wait!! No regrets!! Of course while you're still waiting, you'd wonder if you should have just grabbed the one available!

We fell in love with the chilli red immediately when we saw it... it was no turning back, though I have friends commenting it's a "kick my butt" color... :tazzie:

  • 4 years later...

Hi all, notice my door ambient light was on thru-out the drive at night, it doesn't go off. Is this a feature, or something wrong? I am expecting it should go off.

Ambient light below the rear view mirror stays on when the headlamps are on....doors ambient light should not lite up.
