Iroad v9 camera - which point wire to tap? 24hrs recording

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I recently just fix up a 2 channel camera.(w204-2009)

However when I lock my car after 10mins or so, the camera power off its own and will not record due to no battery power. I am currently using the default voltage.

Q : the camera wire should be direct tab to the battery?

As I believe the current wire is to the power fuse which is the reserve battery power.

I have also tried using black vue 550 and experience this issue.

Your help is greatly appreciate

In order to not drain your car battery, you will need to install a device such as Power Magic to monitor the battery voltage and cut of the power supply to the camera if the volt drops below a certain level.

There is a cut-off voltage for the iRoad v9 that you can set in order to ensure it doesn't drain your battery. I believe the default is 11.8V. Mercedes ECU doesn't charge the battery beyond 12V in order to prevent over-charging of the battery. Due to this, the camera shuts off very soon after you off the engine. If you want it to record 24h, you can change the 11.8V to something lower (~11.5V) but I prefer not to risk it.

Hope this answers your question!
