Does our Merc Cabin Air Filter deal with PM2.5?

Hi all,

 

Just want to enquire if any experts here are familiar with the level of protection that the cabin air filter gives in context of the current haze situation especially with the PM2.5 issue.

 

I found this on the mbusa website

It seems to indicate that there is a level of protection but would like to seek more knowledge on this issue.

P.S.: Btw my ride is a C180 W204

There is a hole in the engine bay where outside air gets channeled into the cabin. There is a plastic casing on top of the battery. Remove it u can see the hole.

U can DIY by cutting a piece of 3M aircon filter and paste it there.

According to what is stated there, looks like we dont even need to worry about PM2.5 (2.5 micrometer) haze issue.

I m no expert but based on info provided, good to know the MB cabin air filter is good for 1 micrometer (PM1.0) which is already >100% better than PM2.5

Lastly the 3M aircon filter is only good up to PM3.0 i.e. 3 micrometer... thus no point DIY-ing
