E200 W211 oil contaminated coolant

Recommended Posts

Coolant in reservior turned chalky . Send to a MB wksp but w/o answer to resolved . Just change the oil cooler and head gasket . Will collect car tomorrow . Was told by wksp that after changing , if leak still persist , than likely will be engine block or cylinder cracked . anyone out there face the same problem .

My pre-owned W204 C180 have this problem as diagnose by car workshop.

I encountered transmission slippage when driving.

Went in for repair for about 2 weeks due to SG50 long weekend.

They replaced whole radiator and overhaul my transmission.

The chalky colour is coolant mix with ATF.

The repair cost was about $5K.

As the car was under warranty, they absorbed the cost.

My mileage when the incident occured was only 76.5K km...

Just to share.....

You can google on the subject of ATF mixing with coolant.

Better go to a Merc specialist to sort the issue out.....

My ATF cooling sysytem is a seperate system from the engine cooling sysytem . No chance of ATF and cooling reserivor coolant mixed . However collected car after repair cost of $2k and drove for 100km+ , no sign of oil in coolant reservior . Need to drive more to confirm.
