Command and AMG steering wheel with paddle shift

To install Command & Paddle shift on cars w/o them isn't as easy as hardware plug and play.

 

You need someone who can have access to MB VeDok registeration to alter/add paddle shift and Comand code into your vehicle registration based on your chassis number before you can have access to the correct software to be downloaded (called SCN coding in Mercedes language) onto your car by local workshops (with SCN coding access) to activate your newly installed hardware.

 

I successfully did it to my SL350 five years ago on paddle shift when work shops locally were only talking about hot wiring connection onto paddle shift from gear shift selector. I did not have to bother install Command on my SL as it came standard from factory.

 

As for Command, I understand some local installer has the access to do the retrofit job, I'll be doing so later after I collect my wife's W212.
