55K servicing and brake pads replacement

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

1) My ride C180 will need to do the 55K servicing and I was quoted around $1.9K. Is this the normal cost for 55K?

2) Appreciate any recommendation on reliable workshops where I can go compare prices.

I was told 55K would be a major servicing as its close to 60K, is this true? What are the things needed to be change during this servicing?

3) During last year's servicing, I was informed that brake pads are at around 30%, not sure if it might be due for replacement. Does C180 has any indicator alert as and when change is needed? And normally how much reaction time does one has before it becomes a danger factor?

4) Also, any recommendation on reliable workshop for brake pads/disc changes would be appreciated. :)

5) The C180 brake pads have been very dusty even-though the car is super under-utilized. Can C180 change to other kind of after-market brake pad/disc which is just as reliable, does not compromise on safety but produce much lesser dust? I remembered some time ago when parked at the Big Box's carpark, I was approach by a sales promoter claiming he has products which can reduce the dust, not sure how that works and any info would be great.

Thank you for any kind input.

I am

Driving c180. Can only answer number 4 and 5.

My brake pads were stock and it was irritating to clean my wheels every 3 days. I changes to ceramic ATE brake pads and the problem is solve. I bought the pads at goldenlink and change at my own workshop. Now the rims are not as bad. The clean look can last for two weeks

For question 3, i am assuming your ride is w204, Yes that is wear indicator on your front & rear right brake.

4. All workshop can do this job, if you are referring to pricing and ethic then i have no idea.

5. Ceramic pad fit your need.

Forgot. U may call Stockist like goldenlink to check

Found the website. ;)

Is it okay to just change the brake pads alone or do the rotor brake discs need to be change as well to fit the pads?

Does ATE comes in a package of some sort?

Thanks again Decruzyong!!

For W204 the brake wear indicator is ONLY on the Front Right wheel!!!!! Only ONE sensor.

The workshop recommends to skim the rotors, if not there will be sound due to the new pads. No packages. Buy as individuals.

Sorry bro, do you mean the existing stock rotors can be skim and as such there is no need to change the stock rotors (if there's no wear and tear)? One workshop I called said must also change stock rotor to fit new pads, I also blur...

1.9k is about right. should be aligned to 60k servicing since it is so close.

2) Appreciate any recommendation on reliable workshops where I can go compare prices.

I was told 55K would be a major servicing as its close to 60K, is this true? What are the things needed to be change during this servicing?

like pt.1 just do 60k. list of things to do are:

Full Maintenance

(Assyst Plus Service B+)

Every 3 years / 60,000km intervals, whichever comes first.

Lubricants and Parts Replacement

1. Fully synthetic engine oil

2. Engine oil filter

3. Brake fluid (drain, replace, bleed)

4. Air filter

5. Dust filter

6. Coolant

7. Auto transmission fluid

8. Auto transmission fluid filter

9. Fuel filter*

10. Spark plugs*

recommend change the pads.

i go to chip soon.

5) The C180 brake pads have been very dusty even-though the car is super under-utilized. ATE ceramic pads a good bet.

Thank you for any kind input.
