Non-Eco mode - normal for car to jerk a little?

Hi Merc-ians, need to find out if you too experience the below with the 2014 E class:

When my car is not in the Eco mode, the car jerk a little (maybe "jerk" doesn't fully describe it but whatever happened is obvious enough for my passengers to notice) when I shift gear from "D" to "N" when the car comes to a stop. Is this normal? I didn't experience this jerky feeling in my old car when I did the same thing. Now surely a Japanese car can't be better than the German marque, right?

Do you get this when you just start your trip (ie. when engine not warm), and your speed is slow (ie. < 30km/h), and you switching between accelerator and brake (or vice versa)?  :phew:

Update: Oh, never mind, just re-read your post again and notice you said you changed gears during stop and it jerks. Hmm.. I never experience before as I almost never change gears when car stops at traffic light. But Jap cars won't experience many things as our Merc because mostly they use CVT, which has diff mechanism.
