cricketing sounds around engine bay

Recommended Posts

Hi Bro/Sis

Need your expertise as every morning start-up, there is irritating cricket-like sound coming from the engine bay (W204 FL 2012).

After a good 5-6mins, its gone.

Also as car is parked at office, evening start-up do have the same cricket-like sound.

Any1 has had the same experience before ?

Appreciate some enlightenment.

Thanks all in advance.

I had similar sound when I was driving my old car, Honda Jazz. The sound will go away after driving for a while.

I brought to Kah Motors and they said it is the engine belt or timing belt (can't remember which) loose. They tightened it for free and the sound went away.

Not sure whether it is same for Merc, but it is the first thing that comes to mind. Perhaps worth a check.
