C180K Coupe (w203) - 90,000 KM servicing (BH Auto Pte Ltd)

Guess not many will need this, considering that the w203 model is quite aged and most would have hit 90K long time ago.

But nonetheless, thought I would share since I could not find many threads on 90,000km servicing. :)

Just did the 90,000km servicing at BH Auto Pte Ltd at Sin Ming. Looks like a decent workshop with 4 consecutive units together. I got it from one of the threads in here, though I did not really see any threads from any bros / sis who actually serviced their car here. The person who serviced my car was also very nice, knowledgeable and willing to share when I loaded him with tons of my queries. The lady (Eunice) who fixed my appointment was also very polite.

I also asked if they could check the car and I bring my own parts for them to change. They are pretty open about it.

Here's the website if anyone needs it. ---> http://www.bhauto.com.sg/

They allow you to bring your own engine oil. Here's what I did for 90K:-

1. Changed engine oil - Brought and used my own Mobil 1 Gold 0w40 (fyi, they also offer exactly the same thing, but I got it at half their quoted price outside. this is probably the only grind I have with them...). Cost: 6L for about $130

This is also the first time I am servicing the car. The previous owner used 5w50 oil during the last servicing. Was told by my car siao friend that 0w40 is enough, 5w50 is overkill, but the mechanic told me it is better to use 5w50 oil, considering the age of the car. Though he later also mentioned that there is no issue using 0w40 for the next 10K. Any comments from any bros / sis(s) here  ;)?

2. Ignition coils and spark plugs  - The mechanic ran a diagnostic and it showed that the ignition coils are misfiring (), causing the "Check Engine" indicator to constantly light up. Cost: a set of 4 OEM ignition coils for $128 (Gallop Automotive)and 4 spark plugs for $34.

3. Oil filter - $30 (used workshop oil filter)

4. Air filter - $20 (from Gallop Automotive)

5. Labour cost for the abovementioned - $80

All in all about $420 for the servicing. They accept VISA / Mastercard. Could see that they are quite organised and the workshop is quite clean and do not look dodgy. On the whole, my general impression of the place is pretty good.

Hope this is still useful :)

Hmm... not a good experience for me when i send my wife's camry to replace the aircon cooling coil at the Sugei Kudut branch about a year ago.

Car came back with damaged dash board, ICE did not connect back properly, wiper upside down...  the car went back to the workshop 3 times before they solved all the problems however the damaged on the dash board is permanent with chipping marks at all the edges.  :thumbsd:

Wah, so bad ar bro.....U got feedback? They give me feedback form leh..Very procedural. The Sin Ming mechanic ok. relative young chap and quite knowledgeable. But of course, I thought mine was very no-frill, like wouldnt expect them to go the extra mile kind. Maybe also mine 90,000K, pretty straightfoward?

Yes, i made a formal complain and a Manager by the name Melvin emailed to apologies.  They offered me a free polishing but in the end, i did not use it... kind of losing confidence and do not want more problem..
