Where does the petrol cap rubber line connect to?

OK, been rather lazy and the petrol station uncle has been filling my car up for me. When I decided to fill up myself the other day, noticed that the uncle have yanked the damn cap off its connection. Anyone knows where does it connect to? Some pic will be helpful. Cheers.

Just now go pump petrol at Esso, than saw the guy take the cap put on top the roof..... ask how come ....... he say its already broken ,,,,,,,???

Mine broken long time ago. It does not post any safety hazard with or without the cord, so have been like that for years liao, still can pump, can lock. So in the end, I just let it be.
