Knocking sound

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I have this knocking sound coming from the front right corner whenever I hit the brakes. Usually heard when braking is a little harder than normal and upon releasing brake to move off. Any idea what's the cause?

Thanks in advanced,

Keith

Hi Keith, welcome to SGMerc!

Mind stating what's your ride and YOM? Are you on stock brakes, brake pad, suspension, or after market?

My ride had knocking sound and Autospritze spent close to 3 hours finding out the problem - nothing short of removing tyres, brake callipers, rotors, exhaust, etc. Finally it came down to an extra long nail anchored in my tyre. Total cost: S$ 20/-.

Hello Hatch. Nope I haven't sent it to the workshop. I wanna narrow down on what's the possible problems first. I'm afraid that the workshops will suggest changing this and that not the problem is not resolved.

It's better to get multiple opinions including "master" CnC... Then compare notes. Usually I will go to ask for about 3-4 workshops because these days there aren't many good mechanics left. Everything is through computerize and not all can be detected via computer. Some are due to mechanical failure and these are through experience.

Lol, tpms shld tell u much faster. For safety, those dont have it standard can consider orange tpms, cheap and effective alternative.
