I just install the C63 exhaust.

It sounds good, but abit louder that the original exhaust.

So wife does not like it and asking me to change back to original.

Just wondering, why is it that the fuel comsuption increase with the C63 exhaust?

My meter is up from 10.9L/100km and now indicates 13.7L/100km

I did not remove the original header and 2 cat.

All I did was to create a Y-tube after the 2nd cat and connect it to the dual exhaust.

Does any one knows why?

For those who just change to a Kleemann header + high flow cat,

Do u experience a higher fuel comsuption?

I still have the original 2 cat on, did not remove anything.

But I roughly knows whats wrong,

Now the Airflow is much better and Rpm rev much easiler,

and with the Sprint Booster, a little tap on the accelerator will rev the engine even much higher.

So will hav to control my foot . so abit difficult to drive if I want to save petrol

I just remove the Sprint Booster and it seems to be much better.

Inconclusion. the SPRINT BOOSTER hav to go, I'm SELLING it and post a sale thread under private ads.

If any one interested please sms me 90707074 (cos I dont pick up the phone when I'm overseas. and I spend 70% of my time overseas. )

Actually, with the sprint booster on, put your gear to C instaed of S, get use to the paddle force will do. My latest tank with SB on actually bought me to 440+km instead of the usual Max 420km/tank.

Dont understand.

Does "paddle force" means step on the accelerator lightly and smoothly?

What experience did u get in Sports Mode?

Thanks

On sport mode, the car jerk badly cause by our usual accelerate force without the SB, put to C, get use to the accerleration than to S mode, you will like the it without high rev.....

One more questions, when u get 440km ,

does it means that your car display around 11-12L / 100 km?

yes, 9339 is right. in order for u to get use to e sprint booster u should put your gear in C mode. in C mode, u start with 2nd gear. in S mode, it starts from 1st gear. u will get use to it after a couple of days of driving.

Bro Morganoh, you mean your C63 exos dont cone in full? meaning from header to tail pipe? (Cos you say you use a Y pipe to seperate it)

How much is the Damage?

If u pay $10k for the AMG package.

There will be an extra button just under the Audio panel with the word "SPORTS: in the button

After u push that button. Your Gear control display just under your speedo meter with change from "C" to "S"

Therefore for cars with AMG package , S stands for Sports Mode and C is Comfort mode.

Bro Morganoh, you mean your C63 exos dont cone in full? meaning from header to tail pipe? (Cos you say you use a Y pipe to seperate it)

How much is the Damage?

The cost is $490 for diffuser and $3300 for the AMG twin muffler box with resonator. (exclude installation)

Apart from the Exhaust, do get the original C63 parts that allows u to connect the Right Muffler to your C200.

Its an adaptor with 2 3inch rod and 2 pcs of Rubber to be connected between the 2 adapter rods and the 2 rods on the muffler

Cos what I did was weld the Right Muffler directly on to the Car, and after 5km of drive the weld came off and the muffler was free hanging.

u also need to buy an additional Heat Shield , to be use in between the Right muffler box and bumper, (u hav one on your left side, but none on the right)

without it your bumper will be out of shape due to the heat dispated from the Right Muffler

The original C63 has 2 header (one on each side of the engine,) and each header has 2 cat (so a total of 4 cats)

Therefore theres 2 pipes , (one pipe for the Right Side of the Engine/header and One for the Left Side)

When u buy the AMG C63 exhaust, it comes with 2 muffler box and one resonator.

The 1 resonator has 2 holes infront and 2 holes behind.

Our C200 has only 1 header and connected to 2 cats. and therefore only 1 pipe.

Immediately after the 2nd cat. I hav to create a Y pipe so that the Single pipe can be connected to the Resonator with 2 holes.

I came to know all the part number from a Holland guy who owns a c180K as he fixed the C63 exhaust on his C180.

But he connect his muffler box in a different way.

He used back the original Resonator (1 hole infront and 1 hole behind)

Then immediately after the original Resonator he create a Y-Pipe and connect it to the 2 muffler box.

I did my in a different way cos I do not want to waste the c63 Resonator that comes with the package,

and I was hoping to get a better Sound if I use the C63 resonator with the C63 muffler.

Hope that u understand what I'm talking about.

is the C63 amg exhaust same as those 4 pipes "AMG sport package"???

Its different , cos the $10K u pay extra for the AMG sports package does not give u the AMG C63 Exhaust.

Cos the AMG C63 Exhaust only comes together if u pay $330K for a C63 car

For $10K AMG sports package, u will be given

the AMG bodykit (with different fog light)

Advance Agility Control + Sports Suspensions

3 spoke steering wheel

Alum gear knob

Alum brake and accelerator pedals

5 17inch AMG rims (including the spare wheel)

The exhaust will still remains the same regardless of a normal C200 or a AMG sports package C200

Wah, post picture of C63 exhaust leh!

HI Jeff.

I did take some pictures, but I do not know which website offers free photos posting on the web.

I can only only link the photos to sgmerc after I post the photos on the web.

Can advice?

Anyway the Rear part of my car look actually from what u can see on

http://www.mercedes-amg.com/C63/

Only thing different is I do not have the C63 logo.

but instead I turn the 6 around and become a C93.

C93 is my own personal model that Mercedes does not produce

and it matches my car number plate too, which is

ES9933P

Without the Cat, with the header and straight exos, Y pipe to seperate the muffles and tail pipe actually give me better FC and Flow..

One more question.

so u keep the original header, remove the original 2 cats, and connect the 2 muffler with a striaght pipe directly to the header?

This is what happen to me with the C63 exhaust.

I had a lost in torque and HP.

With my normal daily easy driving, My gear change is now around 3000+ rpm (normally is around 2500 rpm)

Man exhaust said cos the pipes are too big, and with 4 air outlets, there now no more no back pressure,

without the back pressure, I had problem overtaking and accelerating on the move.

cos there a big delay from the moment I step on the accelerator to the moment the engine reacts.

Man said those SLK200 with Quad exhaust can still hav the power the HP cos the pipes are much much smaller in diameter and can retain the back pressure even with 4 air oulets.

It seems that I now have to do some trial and error test, 1st by covering 1 muffler, to reduce the airflow

hoping to increase back pressure.

frankly speaking the C63 exhaust is to cater for V8 engine, be it the size of the pipe, the lenght, the bend to handle the amount of flow and back pressure of a V8 engine that pushes over 400HP.

If is installed on a C180 (163HP), C200 (189HP), etc......., you will definitely lost low & high end cum torque.

I personally felt there won't be any sound effect, performance effect but only visual effect of the C63 tail pipe even if is on SLK 200, SLK 280.

Here we are comparing 4, 6 cyclinder over a V8 engine.

There is a lot of different between using a 2.75" over a 3" pipe, where do we need a 2.75" and we we need a 3" pipe also play a very inportant role.

thats means if want to fully use the C63 tail pipe those 4-V6 engine need to have more HP, torque by modding and ecu tweaking...
