Undercarriage/ exhaust noise during flood

Recommended Posts

During heavy rain and flood occurred, my ride PFL W204 has this loud gargling sound that seems to come from the undercarriage exhaust pipe. After consulting workshop they did a check on the exhaust but couldn't find any crack or faults on the exhaust. The gargling sound will normally go away after a few minutes off the flood water.

Does any bros has such kind of symptoms happened on your ride? It is very difficult to simulate unless during heavy rain.

Yap....I got similar experience but with the suspension only when car run over very big puddles of water......

Usually goes away away after parking in the sun for a couple of day.....

Spoon feeding teaches you nothing....but the shape of the spoon...

Have you tried spraying or hosing the undercarriage down with water whilst engine is running?

Is the sound loudest on idling or during engine load or high rpm?

I would say the gargling sounds when idling of engine into higher rpm.

t

Sorry I mean the note will increase with the rpm, わかりましたか?

そうですね・・・

So sound is engine related. Could be broken exhaust manifold cover or cracked exhaust manifold.
